If the Chargers sign Shaun Alexander to replace Michael Turner, there will 2 MVP's in San Diego's backfield and we can concentrate on drafting a stud OL and depth at DB and DT.  LaDainian Tomlinson and Shaun Alexander on the same team...I'm booking my room in Tampa for next February RIGHT NOW!!!

GO CHARGERS!

thats a great idea. you should also get jerry rice and art monk at wr. you would be full of mvp's. and maybe once you get them go for montana.
Alexander isn't good at all anymore. He use to be physical and had great accel. Not even close anymore but since you are in the same divison, I hope you do get him. Lots of money for someone that is not good at all.

Alexander has some gas in the tank, but IMO GM A.J. Smith wouldn't go for him unless he was willing to sign for a 1 year contract for under 2 MIL. He would be a good replacement for Michael Turner for short yardage plays, then again the Bolts have Pinnock and Sproles to satisfy that need if LT is sidelined for a break. I see Alexander going to the Lions or Houston where they need help. The Patriot IMO will pass on this option due to being set with Maroney, Evans and Faulk.

i wouldn't mind Alexander to come to SD, but the deal has to be sweet for the Chargers.

Go Bolts!!!

Not to be picky or anything, but Seattle is not in the same division as San Diego.   Seattle is in the NFC West.  San Diego is in the AFC West.    Back in the day they were, but not now...

Great idea boltmancraft, hope Alexander's opinion of himself has softened over the last two seasons. If he asks for the kind of money that I think he will, the Chargers will never do it, and with good reason. But, if Shaun actually wants to win and accepts his obvious decline in production, this would be a great marriage for both. I believe LaDainian Tomlinson would welcome him with open arms too. He would wear the defense down better than any other backup on that roster when LT is on his break.

I just don't understand how so many Chargers fans live in this fantasy world where AJ Smith actually goes out and signs big name free agents.

Shawn Alexander is going to Oakland because Al Davis can't resist a big name with little production
