I got a steal I think. I just traded Micah Owings and Russle Martin for Ryan Howard. I will then try to trade either Carlos Pena or Howard for some even better pitching like Peavy or Santana. The guy was hurting on pitching and lost his patience on Howard. So what do you think? Did I do good or not?

Yup... did fine. Owings is still young. I have him in a league and he's been very nice to have, but you never know. Martin an above avg Catcher... big deal!! For the points difference you can pick up a free agent catcher. Had to make that trade.

Dude, your pitching is solid enough. Keep Howard, if you trade him, you're nuts!! He's a sure fire-stud, and Chase Utley's current pace at the plate can only help Howard too. You did really well with the trade...but I'd let it ride for now my friend.

I think you did amazing. Howard is yet to heat up but once he gets hot he will be amazing. Owings is a bench player in most leagues and Russell Martin is good but doesn't nearly equal Howard.

I would also recommend trading Pena because Howard and Rollins are just to good to be traded. Pena and Smoltz for Verlander or Sabathia. That is a trade I might try to do in your position.

I would keep Howard. Your SP is just fine bro. Billingsley hasn't been stellar but I believe he will come around and in a big way. Gallardo, Vazquez (one of the most under-rated SP in league), Smoltz, Zman... plus Greinke and Liriano as potential guys... You're sitting fine at SP and you just added a stud 1B.
Braun should be fine. Never hit below .280 in a given month last year. He'll wake up. In meantime, I am going to suggest taking a look at Hank Blalock if he's available. Kid is healthy this year and is only 28. 30HR upside and a very solid BA is what you can expect if he's healthy (and he is right now)... under-rated sleeper.

you did get a pretty good deal out of this. however i would definately keep howard and if you're going to trade anyone else i would trade pena.
i am in a league and i have a good 3B in Chipper Jones, a potential star in Evan Longoria, and a good utility player in Travis Hafner. i need help deciding which 2 to start and i have been offered a trade for garett atkins and i can offer him any of the three players stated above.

Well thanx for all your input. I appreciate it. It was hard for me to part with Owings and Russell because I like them both alot this year but Howard is the man and will most likely turn it around. He always starts off slow anyways so thats why I am pulling the trigger on this one. The trade has been accepted but still has to go through the voting of the league so we shall see. I will look to trade Pena for a good pitcher later on in the future so we'll see. I wanted to bolster my offense because I get alot of points in my pitching by streaming pitchers in my daily league so losing owings doesnt hurt to bad. Now that my offense is stacked I will try to trade Pena or someone else for a good pitcher. Thanx for your input. As for B dude i would keep longoria but would start jones and hafner. You never know when jones may go down. I'm not sure I understand the trade though. Why would you want atkins when you have those two?

I agree. most leagues that use voting never get anything passed. Honestly though the purpose of a trade is to make both teams better, correct? So why would a manager approve a trade that is going to make two other teams better? The league approval system for trades is flawed and there is no way around it. The only fair way is commissioner approval method so long as your commish isn't corrupt.
