Yeah, we're glad da Bills are in our division too.  No matter how bad we think our team's going to be in this post-Wannstedt rebuilding era, we know we have a shot of at least beating the perenially mediocre Bills.  This is a great pick, and the price is right for a quality starting left tackle in this league.  No off-field issues that I've heard of, and no potential hold-out.  Well done Tuna!

I to thought it was an excellant pick. Thats not paying bad money either for a #1.

I am sure alot of teams would like to have long.

from your post im thinking you're the bonehead.

First lets state the obvious:  Long is unproven in the NFL along with every other draft pick in the history of the league.

That being said Long is expected to be a stud and last time i checked OL studs are an extreme premium not easily replaced.

So assuming Long lives up to the potential of the #1 overall pick its a genius signing and worth every penny.

See Orlando Pace - 1997 #1 overall pick and had 7 straight pro-bowls  -- the Rams offense is not the same when hes not in there.

No matter WHAT, he is getting paid #1 overall pick money for being an OLman, and no amount of justification will change that!

Ohh, who is the quarterback of this "future Pro Bowl" line? BECK?

Nothing changes facts- Bills > Dolphins, and that's why.

theres about 20 posts on here and every single one of them bashed you for your stupidty and lack of real footballl knowledge.....but i guess you're right, Long was a terrible pick....they should have signed Matt Ryan for 61mil and hope he can start in 3 yrs

I can see why you might be happy, since the Dolphins are the only thing between the Bills and last place in the AFC East.

So would you have blasted the Rams for selecting Orlando Pace #1? Last time I checked, Pace has been a perrenial Pro Bowler that has anchored a championship team.

Jake Long is a step in the right direction for the Dolphins to rebuild.

You gave absolutely no basis for this statement other than maybe "We're the Bills and your the Dolphins and that makes us better!"

How old are you, six? The pick was a necessary evil (high $$), but we went the exact way we needed to. With three picks in the second round we can address many more issues.

Oh, and by the way, how can you talk all that crap about Beck, who really hasn't even had a shot yet, when you got Losman upstaged by Trent Edwards last year. My suggestion is that you worry about YOUR team.

Well, OK, allaboutbuff...you make several points here.
1. Glad the Dolphins are in your division.
No doubt!  They've been a joke lately and having a joke like that to compete with you and the Jets for second in the division has to feel good.
2. Bonehead drafting.
Wow...hard to argue with that one.  The dolphins haven't been impressing anyone lately.  But I guess that's what has to happen before Tuna and his gang roll into town.  Things should look up from here.  I argue that Tuna built the foundation in NE and certainly Dallas.  He went old when building the Jets...so that went in the tank quickly when he left.  Miami will improve quickly....but, um, maybe that's not saying much.
3. #1 OL and #1 $.
(cringing)  Hard to back you there.  An OL is not like a QB, or WR or RB where their output is heav
