The Sharks didn't even show up tonight, with a chance to put away the Flames. Now we get a game 7 - which means anything can happen.
Wilson is a dull as a clam. We need some new blood behind the bench...somebody with a pulse. This team is too talented to be playing seventh games in round 1.
He thinks that the must play differently in the playoffs to win, we need to play like its another game and just play Sharks hockey. I think this will be a confident booster to win this game 7 and we should have that momentum going into the second round... IF we win on tuesday!!!
You may get your wish. My guess is that if they lose game 7 of this opening series, he's fired. However, in watching tonight's game, the Sharks passing sucked! That wasn't Wilson's fault.
Maybe it wasn't his fault. Maybe it was. Times like this, I wish we could know what happens in practice, and whether a team's style -- and failings -- can truly be attributed to the coach.
I do know, we're all sick of seeing these first rounds drag on, when the Sharks are, or are supposed to be, the better team!
I think this is a crappy thing to post before they've even played Game 7. The Flames are a good team and they played the Sharks tough all year long. They're not a soft team and besides when you get in the playoffs, it doesn't really matter who's #1 and who's #8. All that aside, I think the Sharks are the better team and though they haven't dominated this series, I think they'll go out and take care of business at home. That's what good teams do when it gets down to crunch time. And I agree with vikswinitall that they'll build some serious momentum WHEN they get it done.
Save the "Wilson should be fired" crap for after the season. Put forth a little positivity and support your team.
Don't blame this one on the coach. I think Ron Wilson would have liked to hve gotten ejected from this fiasco. Nabokov was the only player to play close to a 100% last night. In a basketball game you can bench the starters, in baseball you have the bench as well. But in hockey you choose the players before the game begins and hope that each has done his preparation mentally and they give it their all. Look for Roenick to be back in the line-up for Tuesday's game and for Rissmiller to be in his suit. Ron Wilson will be back next year, the same cannot be said for a few players that have just not performed this year. (e.g. Ehrhoff, Rissmiller, McLaren...)
