Well put, TheBigF. Some say that a pitch behind the head is as dangerous or even more dangerous because the initial reaction is to move your head back and that would have been right into the path of this pitch.
I'm betting the Red Sox had major problems with that pitch but had the composure to not respond now. In today's game where batters threaten to charge the mound for a pitch that is two inches inside, you might interpret Ramirez' reaction as it not bothering him. I've gotta believe that is not the case. If he happens to hit a HR off Farnsworth in the future, it might take him 45 minutes to round the bases ... and Farnsworth will know why.
