There's no room in the game for that kind of pitching.
I totally disagree with that statement. There was always room for that kind of pitching in baseball until MLB put tutu's and ballerina shoes on the players. Obviously some posters don't recall baseball from yesteryear. Pitchers used to take great exception to show boaters and batters who crowded the plate and let them know about it with a little chin music. And guess what, MLB accepted it because IT WAS PART OF THE GAME!!!!! You always hear about baseball's unwritten rules, well, that was one of them and players knew it and accepted it. You also didn't see players show boating after a homer because they knew the consequences. I don't see a problem with a fastball high and inside to keep the batters on their toes. I totally disagree with head hunting, but a ball bouncing off the ribs every so often has a place in the game. Pitchers of yesteryear considered the plate their property and if a batter crowded it, they knew the risk. Might as well whiffleball with todays rules.
