is it just me or does this guy just not kill you....  i know he has only had three starts but i would like to see some improvement over those three games and there hasn't been any...  with him i think when it rains it poors....  i feel good about our rotation but perhaps mahay or someone else could take his place...  i know i know it's early but everytime he is on the mound if the Royals don't score 8 runs we are gonna loose....  anyway the question is what do you want seen done with John Bale?

I know this is a pole but comments are good converstion !!!!!

I think he needs to be given the opportunity to make 5 starts and judge him on those.  I think we knew that we weren't going to get much from him, so you have to be realistic with expectations.  With the way our bullpen has been pitching, I think they would be relunctant to change things around, and if he were to lose his spot in the rotation, it would likely be to someone in AAA.  They won't be moving Mahay, he hasn't been a starter recently in his career and it is tough to convert a reliever to a starter because you have to build up their endurance.  They start out only going 3 innings or so and that further taxes your bullpen.  It can take weeks to build them up to 5 or 6 innings.  The best option is usually to promote someone who already has the endurance because they have been getting 5, 6, 7 innings or more every time out in the minors.  I would say if he continues to struggle, you can probably expect him or a weak link (Nomo?) in the bullpen to be designated for assignment so that Hochevar can be promoted.

Why is it that every team thinks you need a lefty? I am of the beleif that we need five good or great pitchers. We have Gil Meche, Brian Bannister and Zack Greinke. That is a great start. In the minors we have Kyle Davies and Luke Hochaver. Both are pitching well. Bale is a reliever. I find it hard to believe that a guy who spent a big part of his prime in Japan has what it takes to go out there every fifth day. If we are going to loose most of Bale's games why not loose them with a young guy. We might as well see what Davies can bring, at least until they feel Hooch is ready.

stud thanks for the comment....

i just cringe when i know it's a start day for him....  i wasn't sure if we had anyone else on the team that could make that change....  i agree with giving him more starts but i just expect to loose that game....

you sound like herm

no i totally agree i think if we are gonna lose every fifth game why not let someone develop and get better than leaving him in there....

This is going to sound harsh but Im tired of losses and tired of excuses if he cant cut it get someone who can.  Send him somewhere so he has the opportunity to improve and bring him back.  If not pull someone out of the stands to pitch for free in place of him and save the money for next year.  If were gonna lose lets get it done for free.

It is inexcusable and i mean  completely inexcusable to have this many horrible seasons in a row and be satisfied with repeated substandard performances.   Now if he is hurt, needs sometime off, whatever the case is he should be afforded every opportunity.  If that doesnt work make a change and do it soon.

No more losing no more excuses!

To those that I may have offended my apologies but enough is enough.
