Prince needs to return to his regular diet. There can be nothing better than a nice steak to get the home run juices flowing. Going from meat to no meat has got to affect a guy. Veggie burgers are for singles hitters.
Actually a vegetarian diet can have more protein than meat. And becoming vegetarian might prompt him to lose a few pounds and his bat might become a little quicker.
But I would say eat some meat! Not because it helps hit home runs, but because it will help affect him mentally. Getting back to the routine he had last year...
Keep in mind there are different types of protein. Soy (and most other plant based proteins) are known as incomplete proteins, meaning they don't provide all essential amino acids. Complete proteins only come from milk products, fish, meat, and supplements made from whey.
If things out working, then Prince needs to make changes. Have a nice steak, if only to set the mind at rest and be able to concentrate without the distractions of the meatless issue.
You don't win friends with salad, you don't win friends with salad, don't win friends with salad!! Or hit HR"S either by the looks of it. With a name like Prince the dude should probably do as many manly things as possible and that definitly includes chewing on same BBQ'd cow parts!
You all are crazy. I am not a vegetarian, but it is more healthy than eating meat. I don't know what you have been reading or if you are still relying on the ancient food pyramid, but he is making the best choice for health reasons. His swing will come around and he will still probably hit 30-40 HR's this season. Hopefully the Brewers will beat the Cubs in the division too with two different pitchers starting in the next couple of weeks. Anyway, quit hating on vegetarians and get your facts right about a "big steak".
Most of you have very inaccurate opinions of what vegetarianism is. There's not one thing, be it, vitamin, mineral, or otherwise, that would help Prince, or anyone else for that matter, hit more home runs. And MaxFathers, gazpacho is Spanish, not Russian, you're thinking of borscht.
Meat isn't gonna help him make the contact that he's lacking.
Also, last season Prince hit 50 HR's while only hitting 5 in April. If we get out of the month of April without any longballs from him, then I'll get concerned. Until then, Prince gets a pass from me.
I'm not worried about Prince's Homerun total at this point of the season either. He needs to improve his bat spped to get the ball out of the park, strength helps but bat speed is the main thing he needs. He also needs to settle down he is pressing to hard trying to hit the ball out.
