2002 is pretty recent to me... but maybe not to all... so if we beat Arkansas or Ole Miss that will work?  Volsarebest I am not sure I either of those would do it... but maybe 5 years is a long time to you and thats fine... but i have a feeling just based on your commments IMO that you would be the still 1-9 guy or who care you beat ole miss, or well if you make it to 3 in a row you are bound to win one type of guy... again jumt my opinion based off the simple answer... thanks for the feedback though

i thought we were talking about the last 2 years here most buckeye fans think getting to the nc game with that scedule is great. so for the future winning a nc game would be a situation where nobody could ever complain about the buckeyes scedule and about ole miss if you want to go for the weak sec teams then fine but i was thinking top ones

Why is only one SEC team named?  And don't you see a problem when Purdue is only two spots below LSU in yards?
lol. purdue was 3-5 in a conference that provides little competition. lsu lost 2 games in the best conference in ncaaf. but putting up yards is kind of easy against toledo, easten illnois, central mich, minnesota, notre dame, iowa, northwestern, and central michigan.

Genie, I am not about to get this thread really out of whack, those guys are good, but you missed the main line, Best Player In The Nation, how about Tebow or McFadden, maybe if those guys wouldnt have been around they may have spoke their names!

Oh definitely - Tebow is great and so is McFadden.  I thought it was meant for next year.  McFadden is gone and I think Beanie will be one of, if not the best RB in the country.  JL I think is one of the best defensive players in the country.  But in all honesty, I would say Beanie is the best RB (thanks to McFadden leaving but there are a lot of great RBs next year too) next year and JL will be the best LB.  Tebow will be the best QB.  And a bunch of other positions will be filled by players of other teams.  But Beanie and JL should definitely be on the list of top players next year.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO....ABSOLUTELY NOT.... no way am I going to let you use stats going into a game to justify how 'good' you think OSU's defense is, as long as you ridicule us for using a team's ranking when we played them to show how tough our schedule is.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were having an aneurysm or something while typing that post, but lock it up Tenny.

My point, Gatorz, is that if you want to look at how the Buckeyes stacked up against the different offenses they faced... simply stating where those teams finished in Total Offense is not the way to get it done.

For example, cajun decided (and this is an example) that because Ohio State played against Michigan State... and Michigan State's offense is somewhere in the 30 - 40 range... that proved nothing about the Ohio State defense.  In my opinion, if you look at Michigan State's offensive numbers (avg.) against everyone else... and then compare it to what they did against the Buckeyes.... you'll get a better idea of what the defense is capable of.  I don't have time to look up the stats, figure averages and all that good stuff... so I won't be.  But... as an example: Michigan State averaged approx. 215 yards/game rushing.  What did they do against the Buckeyes?  Around 40 yards.  So, whether or not you think MSU is a decent offense, it looks like the Buckeyes "D" did a pretty good number on them.  Plus, they held them to 3 points... and I'm pretty sure that is less than their average.
