Here's an interesting nugget for the upcoming game against Louisville...
We have two common foes this year. BYU and NMSU.
We beat BYU and BYU beat Louisville. We run a similar style of game as BYU did, and Pitino has stated that he's a little concerned of Boise because of that. Against NMSU, the Cards won, but the Aggies staged a second half comeback that was impressive against a pretty dang good Big East team.
As long as Boise is ready for the game, and not in awe (too much) of the Big Dance atmosphere, it could prove to be a good game!
Hopefully Boise will beat Louisville. Shut Pagett ,Williams, and Clark down and they should have no problem. I haven't watched Boise but I will when they play Louisville and I will root for Boise. Good luck from a Kentucky Wildcat fan.
I'm working here in Eugene, OR this week and will be here during the game on Friday. I hope to be the only person wearing orange in a sea of green (apparently some local school here is going to be playing in the first round also.) Let's see how drunk I can get and start the chant...
BTW.... My wife is from Kentucky and is diehard fan (even wears her blue KY jacket to Boise games - a single blue dot in a sea of orange!). So I've got to ask you... Do all die-hard Kentucky fans hate Duke as much as she does???
So yea, this question is going to so how much of a basketball fan I really am...when's the game? Lol. I never watch B-ball, but I'd like to watch that game. Go Big Blue! No matter what happens, I'm proud they made it to the big dance.
Yes 99.9% of all Big Blue fans hate Duke, even if they do not understand why. I am married to a die hard UK fan and live in Louisville where the fandom is split 50/50 between the CATS and CARDS.
I am a little scared about us, UL, playing Boise tonight. We are far more athletically skilled, but they can shoot and will be playing all out in an underdog situation.
Wow jemattingly, glad you can come over to the Boise thread and pull against Louisville. What a hater you are. I mean I know Kentucky couldn't get past the first round but does that really mean you have to pull against the Cards now? Hope you enjoy the dissappointment you are going to have when the game is over.
I hope Boise St. is ready for the atomsphere. They have played in big buildings this year w/ a lot of fans, like Utah St., but the Dance is a whole new beast. If they can get up and stay up, the fan support will be huge. Louisville is no push over and Pitino won't make mistakes.
Sadly the night turned out like most of Boise State's nights: a lot of potential, a lot of expectation, but when it came down to production they just could not get anything going. But hats off to the team that did what no other could do since 1994. I hope they have another crack at it next year.
Also, I will try to give Coach Graham a little more grace. He proved to many of the nay sayers (me being one of them) in Boise that he can coach a winning team and give the fans some exciting basketball.
Good thing i took Lousiville with spread against my dad. BYU beat Lousiville at the start of the year when they were injured. We are just too small the match up against teams like that.
