No wonder everyone hates the Yankees.
To pursue a lawsuit over a joke - I hope the Red Sox win it all again.
To have a payroll like the Yankees and lose a game is a disgrace.

yea it would be stupid to and cruel to sue somebody over something that didn't really hurt anything and was a joke. The Yankees need to get over it.

I'm not saying that they should sue the guy, but they should definitely fire him, and dock his pay for however much it cost to take the Jersey out. I don't know why this is so big a deal for people. What he did was completely immature and wrong, but its no reason to make such a big deal of it.

Doug Stanhope said it best; rooting for the yankees, is like going to a casino and rooting for the dealer.

Yeah, the Red Sox don't have a pay roll at all. They are such a small market team. Great Post!!

Uh, why? What did it cost the Yankees for the 3 seconds it took to drop the shirt into the concrete? Why exactly did the Yankees need to remove the shirt? Do think it would have weakened the TONS of concrete that were poured. The Yankees made the decision to excavate the shirt, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. Did they really believe they would be cursed?

Oh, by the way, I'm not a Red Sox fan either, but I am a Yankee hater, having lived in the Bronx in the 70s and early 80s with the most insufferable fans I have ever had the displeasure to meet--and I have lived in or near seven different cities in the US and abroad, including London where the soccer hooligans pale by comparison on the obnoxious scale.

Of course they should sue the guy! Make him pay for the cost of digging it up. I read it took 5 hours of digging, make the guy pay for that.
Also, if Twin fans or Royals fans want to complain about the whole payroll thing, that's fine. But I don't want to hear it from sox fans.

It either cost them $5000 or $6000. I forgot which one it was, but I'm sure it was one of those two. Its not a lot of money for the Yankees, but the guy shouldn't be able to just do what ever he wants to and get away with it.

There is no law against what he did. Leaving a piece of clothing in a construction site purposely or not has no standing of any wrong doing in court unless the material could be used in a crime investigation. If the Yankees take this to court they will spend more money on looking like the Joke of the court system. Pathetic on the part of the Yankees. Just admit, you didn't want a Redsox Jersey under your stadium and stop the BS. Jr . owners, who seem incompetent of running the team with any business sense.
If there is any curse, it's that as long as the two juniors are running the team they will not win anything. Can these two sons of the boss act any dumber then they have the last 8 months?

What a bunch of monkeys.
That city of New York is full of them.
Can there ever be an ending between this rivalry. It has gotten very boring.

What a typical response from Yankee management. It's not the Yankees I hate (well so of...no love for the self absorped 3rd baseman and his trailer trash wife who wears tee shirts with obscenities for all the kids at yankee stadium to see), bur the stienbluster family. They could of had a lot of fun with this story, instead they talk of pressing charges and lawsuits. This is why it is alot more fun rooting for the Red Sox.
