I feel it is definetly WR. That was our biggest hole last year and remains the same after FA Berrian will help but is not enough. What is your thoughts?

I think Toddy was the one who said that there are really no holes and the team just needs upgrades. I totally agree with that. I'm comfortable with Ray Edwards and Brian Robison starting at end even though I'd love to see Derrick Harvey fall to the Vikes. I voted OL bcause of the Birk and McKinnie situations. That could be the biggest hole if the they both leave.

We could use alot of help on the right side as of now but if we lose mckinney we could be in trouble!!

The Vikes have a lot of places in need of improvement, but not any positions that you look at and think, God we need help. They won't go with a qb or te in the 1st, and probably not a lb either. The rest are all possiblities. I would prefer a de or saftey if any good ones are still sitting there. I wouldn't flip out if they went with a top lineman to fill a weakness on the right side of the line. None of the wr in this draft jump out at me as instant starters, all of them have weaknesses that are big enough that I woulsn't take any until the 22nd pick or later.

If we did go DE I would love to see Harvey fall to us or even gholston but i don't see that happening. That's why we should go WR.

I would prefer to go DE and help improve the pass rush if there is nobody worth taking, then I think we should take a RT.

We can't forget about edwards and robison! They are very capable of doing the job. If we want depth draft DE in the 2nd or 3rd round. WR should be our top priority. Maybe TE or DB.

None of the above.
Trade up with Miami for the #1 pick and take Chris Long who is the only "can't miss" 4-3 DE in the draft. Miami needs picks so I am sure trading 1st round picks and giving up one of our 3rd rounders plus a 5th or 6th round pick would be appealing.

Edwards and Robison are good DE's and are excellent at stopping the run, but we do not have a legitimate pass rushing end and that it what we need most. WR is still a problem as far as elite talent goes, but our corners and safeties can't be expected to chase receivers around for 4 or 5 or 6 seconds a play because our ends can't get to the QB. OL will be a huge problem if McKinnie goes to jail and Birk becomes a problem, but until that happens, we need to work on the problems we have now, which is a pass rushing DE.

basically DE would #1 of course because of the pass rushing situation. the rush defense can stay because of the williams boys. harvey would be a great addition to helping the pass rush or at least take some of the pressure off our corners.

ADFavorite ...I agree with you 1000% because.....
- DE-If we maintain status quo, we will still have a #1 rush defense but an inferior pass defense as in the past two years...the Giants are a perfect example of how important a pass rushing DE is...the more you have the better your defense will be. Our DB's are plenty good enough in coverage if the QB doesn't have enough time to throw the ball. Robison and Edwards are plenty good enough to hold down one DE position at least, but another good DE is imperative for the Vikings D to become a top 5 and dominant defense. Defense wins championships as the Giants proved again.
- QB- We all have questions if Tarvaris Jackson will improve enough or at all to get the Vikings to the next level.e.i. into the playoffs and beyond. Gus Frerotte will be a very solid #2 but because of his age, he will not be the answer for the long haul. Another quality QB that can be groomed for the future will be critical if TJ doesn't cut the mustard this year. And besides, if we are to become a top tire team, we MUST have a good QB either way. The other offensive pieces (running game, recieving and O line) are in place or are being upgraded...we must improve the QB position now and the future.
- WR- Yes we've upgraded the WR corp but we still need another real threat..Would be great to have 4 solid WR's and 1 or two guys as backups. A strong passing attack will make our running game even better and prevent teams from stacking the line of scrimmage with 8 or 9 guys. When the Vikings had a great passing attack, we had 4 very good receivers (Randy Moss, Chris Carter, Jale Reed, Nate Burleson ).
- OL- Last but certainly very important....These are the guys that open up holes for the RB's and pass protect...every good team has a good, solid O line. With question marks about the status of Bryant McKinnie and possibly Matt Birk after this year(even though I think he will be resigned), now would be a good time to get a solid RT or LT since the draft is deep on O linemen. Everything that happens in football starts with a good, solid, physical O line. We have a very solid O line now but that as well as any other position can change in a second because of injuries, etc.

I agree with all the people who say we need a DE but I think we should fill in more of the holes for WR first so Tavaris Jackson can improve on what he started last year
