bilstell,
what are you talking about?  You need to look up your facts before you post stuff.  UK only loses 2 players this year.  granted they were two of their stars, where do you get that they are only returning three players?  And yes our star player didnt even finish the season, but he will be fine by the summer.  He didnt injure something like the knee, so he will be fine.  Plus our team was full of injuries this year so we were missing some key players.

Im not saying UK deserves to be in the top 26.  But they are bringing in a good recruiting class and they should be able to fight their way into it by mid season.

As for bama, it depends on who stays and who goes

Cant wait for Meeks, Jasper, Patterson, Liggins, Stevenson on the court at one time.
Big Blue will turn heads next year, believe that.

You're kidding me right?  You guys will be terrible.  Those guys are all career 6th men except PP.  Now they will turn heads being starters?  Turn heads toward the exit.

You guys will be dependant on Darius Miller for scoring not Liggins.  And PP might be out till November so he'll need some time to shake that rust off.  Better schedule some SD's and Gardner Webb's to help him get healthy....oh wait....

Seriously you guys might be searching for a new coach soon so good luck turning heads.

Bama will be good only if Hendrix and Steele return.  In that case Bama will be anywhere from a 4 seed to a 7 seed in the NCAA tourney.  The core we have back is the 2006 team that nearly knocked off UCLA in the 2nd round when UCLA made it to the Finals.  Except we don't have Jean Felix and Jemario Davidson (#2 and #3 scorers from that team).  So actually the core is that of the early 07 team which was poised for a top 15 ranking until Davidson had his issues and Steele went down with the bad knees.  Bama will have the best starting 5 next year in the SEC, but the bench is still not that great.  Hollinger, Jemison, and one of either Torrence or Coleman could be good next year.  The incoming class we got was a top 10 national ranking with Green, the other Steele, and Mitchell.  I see us winning 25 games, but losing games we shouldn't due to coaching.  Luckily Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, and AU should be down next year and MSU could lose Gordon (who is the best player in the SEC, maybe better than Ron Steele).

Starting 5
Steele (PG and All-American), Hillman (SG-slasher), Gee (SF-slasher), Green (PF--raw but talented in the post but will play high post in the UCLA offense), Hendrix (Low post/C All-SEC and All-American candidate)
Key Bench players:
Hollinger (PG/SG---3pt specialist), Jemison(PF--hustle-type player)
Guys who could possibly take Bama to a new level if they are either better or as good as advertised:
Tony Mitchell (SF--Rodney Carney type player), Yamene Coleman (C---big body), Andrew Steele (SG---slasher).

We could be a very deep team next year, but only if Coleman and Torrence step up (Steele can't play 40 mpg again in SEC play for us to win).  But the key will be allowing Steele, Hillman, and Gee to make plays on the break and then focusing on getting the ball down low to Green and Hendrix in the half-court.  Finally who will shoot the 3 for us?  With Mykal Riley gone, we don't have a wing shooter than can shoot the 3.  Hollinger is too short to take enough 3's, and Steele is the PG and needs to create opportunities and drive the lane (though he's a 45% 3-pt shooter).

Sbarruf, do you even have a clue what you're talking about??  Patterson and Meeks are both legit All-SEC performers.  The incoming class, granted, will be freshmen but will make an immediate impact.  Stevenson turned it on end of the season, Jasper will be improving his game, Stewart will have a year under his belt.  If you think Billy G. is going to OSU, then you have zero clue about college basketball in general.  All you Florida fans get a taste of glory and think you're the experts.  Stick to football bud, we'll stick to keeping our NCAA streak alive and competing for our usual spot at the top of the SEC.

But maybe ya'll can make the good tourney next year.  Better hope Speightts sticks around dude.

Kentucky is not losing 73 % of it's scoring. It's losing 73 % of its scoring it's last 6 games. Did you forget about a little guy named Patrick Patterson? I think you did. UK will be a solid team next year. And I'm guessing you don't know anything about UK's recruiting situation. UK will be 5 guys deeper next year than this year. Next year will be UK's 18th tourney appearance in a row, and I predict a 2nd place finish in the SEC.

I tel you what. If my team was losing 65 popints from their tam I would be real worried. And PP is out for a while, although he was or is their best player what exactly does that mean? They couldnt beat Gardner Webb or San Diego at home and couldnt advance a Big east team that finished 6th or 7th in the league! On top of all that, Billy Gaylespie may be Ok St next coach. I know I'd be tempted to take 3.5 mil a year. Oh Yea!!!

Gee for alabama is a good player. If Bama gets a point guard they will be pretty good. I just wish Flordia could pick up some good players. j/k

I want to know why Xavier is being left out.  They were left out last year too and looked where they ended up at the end of the season.  Granted they are losing Burrel, Lavender, and Duncan. I still think they will have a great team by returning Love, Raymond, Jackson, Anderson, and Brown. They also have 5 really good freshmen coming in for next year (Frease, Holloway, Redford, Lyons, and Walsh.  Frease and Holloway should make an impact right away while I see Redford coming off the bench a lot his first year.

Again the Muskies are overlooked and will end up with another 20+ win season and a decent run through the tourney

Patterson is not going anywhere this year, but if he continues playing next year like he did this year he should be a high first round pick (Much different than the player we thought we were getting in Morris). I agree that if we get all of our players healthy next year there is no way we shouldn't have a preseason rank any lowere than 20. I have a difficult time understanding how Parrish could only have two teams from the SEC listed in his rankings. I guess we are all getting way ahead even tryingb to predict what next year will bring.

ty come on. seriously. You usually have good posts on here. But to say PP is leaving is just ignorant. He flat out said he is staying all four years. I'm not so sure about all four, but after one year? no. sorry. He'll be here I think til his junior year.

There are a lot of stupid comments on here about UK. Maybe you guys should look at EVERYTHING before you start making ignorant comments.

As long as Gottfried is in Tuscaloosa, Bama won't see the top 25. If Jamont comes back to Starkville for his senior season I see State winning the west for the third straight year.
