I just don't get it. You could have been a part of something really special next year and now you are going to jump to the next level without another year of experience you really needed. I wish Earl all the best but I think this is an extremely dumb move.

What the f$#% is the matter with him. He needs 1 more year what a waste of hidden talent. I wish him well. Boy we could have been a powerhouse next year. These kids need to finish college not listen to Tom Dick and Harry . I'm totally disgusted rite now .

It's really a shame that the NBA has to ruin college basketball. I think that is a big part of why I don't watch it. In some ways I feel like these guys need to go because they want to support their families and are afraid of the injuries but I also feel like the NBA just needs to back off until these kids are seniors. Anymore, professional sports just make me sick. The NFL is the only one I watch anymore and if the players keep getting more greedy there Im going to quit watching that too.

great player, but still to raw and scrawny. He will get picked in the top 15-20 and make his money, but will spend the next three years sitting at the end of some teams bench. After that he will probably end up in Europe. However, his fate is still better than Character's.

I am really surprised by this too. How did he come to this decision? I wonder if Caracter had anything to do with this? They are best friends. I know Pitino thought he should stay one more year. Someone must be telling him he is a lottery pick. Still, he could have been looking at the top pick next year with the play and leadership potential he had shown near the end of the year.

You guys need to quit griping about kids going pro. Why do you think he's at Louisville to begin with? Don't blame the NBA, blame the kid and his advisers. If you are not a first round pick there is no guaranteed contract. Both Caracter and Clark have dreams. It is up to Pitino to advise them where he will go in the draft. Neither big man look to be more than role players at best. It is the NBDL or Europe for them Hopefully they will not get agents and see how they rank to the other players eligible for the draft. If they are projected to get a guaranteed contract then it makes sense, sort of. I agree that these guys could use more time to make themselves more marketable, but you are talking about dreams and winning the lottery. There may also be family considerations involved.

Ricefield, Pitino already advised Earl not to go pro. Its not just the NBA's fault though. Its the fault of friends, family, and agents that entice these guys to go to the next level even though they know they aren't ready. Also, I am blaming Earl. The whole text of my original statement is..WHY EARL? Please don't take up for the NBA. They have destroyed the game of college basketball in my opinion and its definitely not just because of this. The only excuse I can give Earl IS family reasons. If not for that, this decision is stupid. I'll never stop watching college basketball but it will never be like it was before when these kids couldn't skip college or jump ship early.

This is just stupid. The NCAA Basketball should be just like the football in not letting players leave early till their a junior. Yeah im glad they made it where you have to have one year of college but what does that do, overall that hurts the team if you get a player for one year and then he bounce's off to the pro's, make it where you have to atleast be a DAMN Junior.
Also, with all this out here i guarantee T-WILL is gone, theirs no way he's coming back now.

There is some justification for this, but it's not a great one. The team is losing David Padgett, Juan Palacios and Derrick Character. Earl Clark would be the only returning big man, and maybe he doesn't want that. However, Rivals.com has Louisville with the 4th best recruiting in the nation right now. Clark's stock is pretty high at the moment, so why he would he stay other than his potential development. He could definitely be a first rounder though. He has looked better this year than someone like Javale McGee.

I agree that this is not a good move by Clark. He is an extremely gifted athlete, but as seen in that game against UNC in the Elite Eight, he is still raw. His post-up game is still not there yet. Another year in college would do him a lot of good. Louisville had a young team this year and would have had a legitimate shot at the title next year. I'm not even sure how high a pick Clark will be. Good luck to Earl, but this was not a smart move at all.
