The Miami Dolphins can use a lot of help in certain areas, but their biggest need is for a massive offensive tackle to keep pressure off of the quarterback. Jake Long dominated in college, and especially in the Big Ten. Chris Long could also help the Dolphins, as well as Matt Ryan, Glenn Dorsey, and even Vernon Gholston. But the foundation starts with a solid O-lineman. Look at Joe Thomas, the #3 pick for the Browns last season, and how well he did as a rookie. The Browns had a turnaround season, and a lot of that had to do with Thomas keeping the heat off of Derek Anderson, who is not a great quarterback. If they go with defense, maybe they will catch that 0-16 tag that they squeaked by in 2007 with an OT win.

I agree. I understand the other Long is good but the offense is a disaster as well and if you cant score points your screwed. Start young on DL is neccessary, but when I cant name a starter on that OL its a good idea as well lol.

I agree completely. Superbowls have been won by teams with less-than-stellar quarterbacks, but never by teams who get dominated at the line of scrimmage. That tells you something.

I’ve seen Jake Long play for four years. The guy plays hard and through the whistle. He gave up 1 sack and had 0 penalties last season. Miami should take Jake Long the guy is a great player and can help whomever they have play quarterback.

Long is a great all around tackle and could play either right or left at a great level for the next ten years for the Dolphins if they drafted him.

What impresses me most about Long was his footwork. He always seemed to be in the right spot in pass protection, and he was a great run blocker.

The biggest stat here was zero penalties last year. That's simply amazing for a player that was on the field as much as Long was.

I'm a die-hard Michigan fan, and I have seen many U-M games over the last four years. Jake Long is a great choice for the Dolphins, since their offensive line was less than stellar last year. He played against good d-lines in the Big Ten and did well against the speedy defense of Florida in the Capital One Bowl.

However, I think the Dolphins would be better suited to trade the pick, since there are multiple needs on the team. But if they keep the pick, Jake is the way to go.

Even though John Beck didn't look good last year, Miami spent a second round pick on him last year and Coach Sporano should give him some time.

To me Jake Long is the safest pick in the draft. Just like Joe Thomas last year.

Honestly i think the Dolphins could get 2 solid starting tackles in this years draft or maybe a tackle & guard.

Take Jake long with the #1 pick then take another tackle or guard with your 1st pick in the 2nd round.

Also i wouldn't be mad if they went Chris long, then tackle in the second round.

As of this date Jake Long seem's to be their choice, but with Parcells history Chris Long could be picked.

I've gone with Jake!
