I personally think that Self would be crazy to leave Kansas, but he would be awesome.

The only way Gillispie would leave Kentucky is if there is something going on behind the scenes that is not publically known such as a conflict with a booster, etc. Not likely though.

Scott Sutton would be interesting however unlikely with Pickens relationship (or lack thereof) with the family. That would make for a fun Thanksgiving Dinner table!

Knight? I hope not but you nerver know.

I don't know much about this Anthony Grant, but he is on the radar of every opening.

He said he loves it at Kentucky and the only way he leave if the fans runs him out of town and the UK fans love him so he not going nowhere.

Bill Self would obviously be the big prize and it would rock hard to get him. Say what you want about a coach being at a premier school. Alums ALWAYS find a way back to their home Universities. However I do not believe this is the right time for Self to leave for OSU.

I would not be too excited if we landed Billy Gillispie. I do not think he is THAT good of a coach. He had one great season at A&M, then bolted for Kentucky. I think he is a guy being promoted too much too quickly. He was merely an assistant under Bill Self when he was coaching at Tulsa only a few years ago. I just don't think he will be able to do much better than Sean did.

Now Scott Sutton on the other hand, he has been at ORU for years, building a reputation and a constant contender for his conference crown and numerous NCAA tourny births. Sure they never have gotten past the first round of the NCAA tourny, but it's such a tiny school, yet they always win games they are suppoosed to. Say what you want about the competition level, but I think if we're looking for a Mid-major coach to promote, it should be him. (I always thought he should have suceeded Eddie instead of Sean just inheriting the job for being the assisstant.) Probably won't happen though since Pickins hates the Suttons and Sean probably blew any chance of Scott getting the job.

Please no Bob Knight...let him stay retired. One guy who I think OSU should go after if Self denies us is Bruce Pearl. He has built something great over at Tennessee and they seem non-commital to him.

The fact is, scouts are constantly raving about the talent at OSU. They say this is the most talented bunch we have had in nearly 20 years (and that spans 2 Final Four clubs.) Byron Eaton is as good as any PG in the country when he's on his game, Thomas and Adams will be beasts down low, and Obi and Anderson can shoot the lights out if they could find a little consistancy. I'm sad to see Dove go...best defender in the Big 12 the last two years. I see us running a high flying offense with Eaton, Obi, Anderson, Thomas, and Adams next year. Harris will be a good 3 pt. sniper off the bench and I think Anthony Brown will be a big contributer as an extra big body when he recovers from his injury. He was solid this season off the bench before getting hurt.

Anyways, I digress. I think Self, Scot Sutton, or Bruce Pearl would be able to put these pieces together and get up back to the top of the Big 12. Lets not forget we are only 3 years removed from our 2 straight Big 12 Championships and Final Four appearance. I think we can get back there with one of those 3 guys at the helm.

If im not mistaken Anthony Grant from VCU was a Coach K product. He either played for him, coached under him, or both. I cant remember. I have also heard the UNLV coach, Lon Kruger, might be a possibility.

Grant would be a great pickup. I kinda dont want Billy G. Scott is out of the question. I dont think he would do that to his bro. Bill Self is who I hope gets it.

I choose other and there are three coaches i have in mind, john Cailpri, memphis,  the pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon, Davidsons coach Bob McKillo. these would also be in which order i would like them to go thought and anything less than these guys or a few on the voting list, anything less would be a total failure. Crap if we turn out to be like arkansas last year it will be a joke. OSU better get the right guy or here comes coach after coach. Also a lot of players are talking about not playing or tansfering, so lets hope we can field a team with out all walk-on, i know that personally that obi is man has hell.

Self would be the best case scenario, but enough about him.

I think Calipari would be fantastic too. He's a great recruiter and a great coach. He has to want to get out of Conference USA. Some have said that it would be a step down to come to OSU, since he has such a great thing going at Memphis.

So people on the Sutton article message board have said that OSU is a terrible job where the expectations are unreasonably too high, so Calipari would be dumb to leave Memphis. But any coach would rather coach in the Big XII than C-USA. OSU has 2 national championships, 2 final fours in the past 12 years, one of the best arenas in the country, and a great fan base...sounds like a step up to me.

I don't like Bobby Knight or McKillop from Davidson. They're both pretty old and we need someone long term. Plus McKillop has been at Davidson for 20 years.

As to Pearl, at least he could still wear the orange jacket...just a better shade.

I would go after Drew (the Baylor coach)  he has brought that program back from the dead and would not require the money commitment.  Then I would wait for Self to become available whether 1 year or 5 years from now.

that transferring talk was more about them being mad than true so i'm not going to name who was talking about it because they are a lot calmer today, which i found out around three today. . The players didn't even know he was getting canned until they found out by classmates and news media, like espn. So I think everything is going to be ok, however i don't know what dee probey is going to do there is some talk about asking out, but i think he is going to wait and see who the coach is

I am a Kansas Fan i hate when schools fire or let coaches go before the final four! it happened with UNC and The week before KU was to play in the Final four talks about who UNC was looking at for a coach i think that its a distraction for the Players. I know that OSU fans and Alum Don't care because its not OSU playing in the Final Four, and OSU is just looking out for ITS own good! Good luck finding a Coach Hope it not SELF!

First off, OSU and KU are tied in Final Fours 6 apiece.

Second, you are HILARIOUS.  Your Final Four appearnces?  It had been 44yrs since you even SMELLED the FInal Four and have only gotten there twice since then.  So in 60yrs you have been the Final Four 3 times, NICE.  When one of those times there was only 8-teams involved so you just had to win one game.

You are comparing that to KU who in 37yrs have been to 6 Final Fours.

Yes you are tied in the same "traditional argument" however when you compare the two for the past 30yrs it is not even close.

And don't get mad at me for pointing this out.  Simply look at the talent.  When a top recruit chooses between KU and OSU, he will ALWAYS choose KU.  That is until Boone starts paying players to get him a title.

Why you guys don't hire Boone as the Athletic Director I don't know.  EVERYONE knows he is the decision maker.
