I'm sure most of the national media will ask "What's wrong with the Tigers?" after this series, but they're missing the big picture.

The Royals are really not that bad, and I believed that before this outstanding 3-game series.  They will win more than people think, and have some outstanding young talent.  The next two or three games will indicate how this team should fare the rest of the way, as our #4 and #5 starters, John Bale and Brett Tomko, will have to pitch.

I don't think they will win the Central (hopefully, but probably not), but they should be competitive for third place, which would be a wonderful accomplishment after so many seasons of cellar-dwelling.

So the question shouldn't be "What's wrong with the Tigers?"...it should be "What are the Royals doing right?"

War having the best record in baseball (for a few hours, at least)

Go Royals!

Easy on the kool-aide  there buddy. The Royals won't be within 20 games of the Tigers or Indians at the end of the season.

I hope that the Tigers are just getting warmed up.  It seemed like that had a slow spring training.  I have to believe that once they get going they will begin to score some runs.  The pitching thus far for the Tigs has been decent, and the bullpen is looking alright too so... I don't see anything to be overly concerned with.  That is except that we are starting 0-3.
Go Tigers!

I'm a diehard Royals fan (as painful as it's been since '85), and for the first time since 03, I'm excited!  I'm not excited because I think we are going to win the Central or the wildcard.  I'm excited because Dayton Moore is making the right moves.  The Glass family has agreed to open up the checking account, but we aren't wasting money on washed up vets.  We are developing good young talent, and hopefully NOW we will resign them rather than dumping them for scraps (Damon, Beltran, Dye, etc).  Trey Hillman is the PERFECT manager for this team.  We are running more and we are running effectively.  We are getting timely two out hits, and we've built what's starting to look like a major league rotation (remember when Odalis Perez and Scott Elarton were our "aces?"  Thank God those days are over).  Soria is going after hitters late in ball games; I swear, had we kept Riske, we'd have a very good bullpen.  Like a previous post mentioned, hopefully we can get 8-10 wins out of our number 4 and 5 starters.  If so, why shouldn't we have hope in KC??  Go Royals!!

Easy on the kool-aide there buddy.
What's with the kool-aide comment there homer? He didn't knock your Tigers. He just mentioned that the Royals might actually be improved. Anything wrong with that? Are you too young to remember the Tigers losing 119 games in 2003? They improved. Until the next game, the Royals are one of the best, and the Tigers are one of the worse. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results, but I am going to enjoy this until the beginning of the next game.

The Royals won't be within 20 games of the Tigers? We'll see. But $138,700,000 sure doesn't buy what it used to.

I agree with the third place prediction for real.  I don't think the White Sox are any good this year and now that the Twins lost Santana and Hunter I don't they'll be as good either.

Royals have good young talent and should take 3rd this year.  If we can keep the nucleus together and develop two more of our pitching prospects in the minors the Royals seriously will be legit in two years.

I know people who don't pay attention are probably laughing but its true.  The Royals actually played 500 ball post All-Star break last year.
