Well, an offensive lineman would be fine, IMO.  Over the last 5 years, Millen has drafted exactly four offensive linemen, with none of them being picked earlier than the 4th round.  The Lions O line stinks and has for a long time; they can't run the ball and their QB's get killed (see Kitna last year).  To me, this is Millen's real problem and the true indicator of his deficiency in evaluating his team's needs.  He's gotta go, easily the worst GM in sports today.

We need O linemen and REALLY need a real live NLF runningback.  If we take another offensive player it is fine, as long as he actually can play NFL football!!!!!

I take exception to calling Matt Millen the worst GM in sports today!!!

What about Isiah Thomas?  At least Millen has only destroyed one team, and did it in a classy manner.  Thomas destroyed an entire LEAGUE (CBA), took a loaded Indiana team to the first round of the playoffs, the same team Bird took to the finals, and literally sexually molested a Knicks employee and figuratively raped Knicks fans.

What would help the Lions the most would be new ownership because the Fords have run this organization into the ground.  They haven't been serious contenders since the 50s.  As long as they own the team you're stuck with Millen.  He's certainly got them in his corner.  With new ownership you get a new GM and then hopefully the process of building a NFL team can begin.  Until then this team will suffer from incredible stupidity and insufferable performance.  This is a team you can't fix through the draft.

The lions needs are more than there picks, which is normal by lions standards. however millan has proved that he believes the offence is the most important position, which is why he will pick a rb(also he cut the rest)because that is the teams #1 need. that being said i feel bad for the new rb cause he's going to get hit more in the backfield than kitna. and that is ALOT

Sticks break. You need to use a steel pipe to get through that thick skull.

But look on the brite side... if he does then they can dump Millan and move on!

1st we need an offensive line...  but we also need a rb because it is not good to rely on a rb that didnt even make our roster for most of last year...  Felix Jones or Mendenhal would be a great pick at 15...  there are some amazing deffensive players this year...  just 1 prob...  the deffensive players are not deep at all...  the only good deffensive players that we could really get would be a  cb and im pretty sure that we addressed that in the off season...  we need what will win for us and if thats 1 more year of an offensive player that so be it...

Lead pipe definitely.  He has no freakin plan.  First he was enamored by the greatest show on turf, then fell in love with mooch, then went to his instincts with a hard nosed defensive coach and somewhere in there got a pass on hiring mary morninwheg.  he drafts four count them four freakin wrs in round one, btw, he did draft jeff backus and dominic riaola in his first draft in rds 1 and 2.  just seems to me he has taken sooo long to figure out what kind of team he wants and has given no clear direction for the organization.  how can your scouts know what players fit your system when you keep switching philosophies defensively and offensively.    as for this years pick, it should be rb rashard mendenhall.  He is a great all around back and millen has given himself no options but what he will likely do is draft a cornerback and hope t bell can run in the zone scheme supposedly being brought in(imagine that, another change in philosophy)
