I think the Cubs made a huge mistake not getting Santana or a leadoff hitter

You're absolutely right the Red Sox should have grabbed him and had the best Rotation in the MLB.

The Yankees should have taken him to have a rotation with an ace in it.

Voice of reason SCPB... you mean the "J.D. Drew/Julio Lugo are in their prime but A-Rod isn't" comment was your attempt at the voice of reason?

I knew it couldn't last .... so i must respond to the ignorants:

1st ... non of these players are in their primes anymore.

But ... based on career stats ... both Lugo and Drew will have better numbers this year ... and A-Fraud .. aka Miss October, will still have great numbers, but they won't be as good as last years ... that will be  the pinacle year of his career and while his numbers will be good for a long time, he is in the downward slope of his career now and will on the decline.  Hope you enjoy that $300 million dollar playoff choker for all he's worth ... less.

And since this thread has taken a dive ...  due to the sour spankie fans once again ... i feel obligated to salute them all ...

"YEAR-TWO-THOU-SAND" ... and the beat goes on!!!

LOL .... never gets old

In January 2008, the MLB Fan Association, a non-profit organization, was founded, establishing a collective Union for the MLB Fan Base. The charter of the MLBFA is to vigorously advocate and defend the interests of the consumers of America's National Pastime. Franchise owners interests are promoted through the MLB Commission, and players interests via the MLB Players Association. Due to this effective organized representation, Player salaries are astronomical, and Franchise profits & valuations are astonishing. Conversely, the unrepresented MLB Fans face ever increasing costs: Exorbitant ticket prices; Ridiculous stadium concessions; Unreasonably priced team merchandise; Games aired via franchise owned pay cable TV; Government tax exemptions & subsidies. TV, Radio, Print & Digital media advertising campaigns will be launched Q2, 2008, calling on all MLB Fans to show their support for the MLBFA, by registering with the Union. For maximum visibility & impact, the MLBFA will initially target the Tri-State metro area MLB Fan demographic. Once Union membership reaches critical mass, the MLBFA will present Articles of Intent to the MLB Commission & MLB Players Association for good faith negotiation. Should formal grievances not be recognized nor considered by the Owners & Players, effective Union Action will be initiated. Enough is Enough      Join the Union Today       ; www.MLBFA.org
