I think its a combination of Memphis being good and our conference just not being that good in hoops.  We just don't have the athletes.  Did you see what Davidson did to Wiscy.  That was embarrassing.  Arkansas out-athleted IU.

Mich State still had a great year and the win over Pitt to get to the sweet 16 was nice.  You guys just need to get another Mateen Cleeves.

Really crappy night for Big 10. I certainly thought Bucky would win and didn't see this Memphis/MSU debacle coming.

All in all, I guess the experts were right on. Big Ten down this year. Two teams in the top 20, but outclassed by better talent.

Thank God there is always a new year. At least MSU lost to a 1

Was MSU playing the Harlem Globetrotters in the 1st half?  I saw more spectacular dunks in 45 minutes than in the entire NBA All-Star game.

Too bad there's no mercy rule in college - you guys could use it tonight.

The Big 10 is alot like the Big East in the fact that they build teams to grind it out, works well in close games but when they get down it is hard to get back in the game.

you guys really showed us up in the beginning of the second half. I guess it was partly because of Rose's absence, but good game.

Good luck next year!

I just want to say that MSU has absolutely nothing to hang their heads about.  I've been a Memphis fan for more years than I care to discuss.  The first half was the best half of basketball that I have ever seen from any team much less a Tiger team.  MSU just ran into a buzz saw with a major chip no it's shoulder.  That score was not indicative of the difference in the two teams.  Every team in the sweet 16 is capable of a game like Memphis had tonight.  Memphis was just lucky enough to have it in this game.  Typically I don't think there is 5 point difference in the two teams.  MSU had a very good year and is an excellent team.  It was just one of those days when the snow ball started rolling.

MSU fans are a class group and I have enjoyed the posts.  Best of luck next year.  You have one of the best coaches ever and will be back where you should be very soon.

When all is said and done, Memphis just really came out last night with a game plan and stuck to it. Their offense was clicking on all cylinders and it showed. MSU didn't even play a terrible game, at least offensively. To shoot 41% in the first half AND BE LOSING BY 30? That's something not seen very often, but this isn't to take anything away from the Tigers. Perhaps it was unlucky that MSU played Memphis on a night like this, because I don't think they're capable of playing like that night in and night out.

But all in all, Memphis went out there and got it done, so best of luck for the rest of the way.
