Who to pick to take up mos t of the time in the ever rotating-ring-around-the-rosey leftfield?

Brian Barton - Speedy, quality hitter, some power, good fielder

Ryan Ludwick - Avg. Speed, another quality hitter, can hit the long ball, good fielder

Chris Duncan - Slow, decent hitter (too many strike outs), amazing power, terrible fielder

I like how they will each get a chance to play a little LF.  Certain guys are better matchups against certain pitchers.

But really like Brian Barton. (SPEED = what the Cards need)

Ludwick is def my second pick.

I'm off the Chris Duncan bandwagon.  I hate his Defense and his inconsistent at bats.  I was really impressed with him two years ago after the all-star break, but he is a horrible fielder and is too slow.

Thoughts?

Totally Agree...

Barton, then Ludwick, and trade Duncan while you still can!!!!

Yeah, I'm with you. I'm not a huge Jason Bay fan, but the rumor from about a month ago, saying Duncan and Reyes for Bay would've been fine with me. Especially if Reyes is going to be dealt or in the minors anyway.

I too, was a big Duncan fan, and I supported him during his slumps and said that he was getting better defensively. However, I think I'm about done with him. Yes, he does have terrific raw power, but bad defense and way to many k's. I like both Ludwick and Barton.     However, I think if they are going to deal Duncan and Reyes, they should try to get something besides and OF, of which we have an abundance. How bout a quality middle infielder or SP? That's a more pressing need.

It would be great to get a decent SP for them, but I think they need to get something for them, before their value goes down even more than it is now.

Tomahawk, I agree with you about making a trade to get some middle infield help or a starting pitcher.  I personally would like to see a power hitting SS in a trade if the Cardinals made one.  That would make the lineup very explosive.
