With your tiny enrollment of 1700 where do you get many fans from? There will be a ton of Badger fans in Detroit rooting on their team. Your bball team has been impressive all year and really scares the crap out of me. If the Badgers get into a shooting contest with you we are going to lose. We need to drive on your guards and let our size control the glass for second chance points. I also think driving will help cause many fouls against Davidson. Good luck!

Everyone in the stadium that is not rooting for Davidson's opponent roots for Davidson.  It's 3 on 1 in favor of the underdog.

Good luck to Davidson for the first 39 minutes on Friday.  If Curry could catch some sort of flu it would make me a lot more confident about what the outcome will be.

Curry's playing like he's possessed... simply amazing clutch player!  I picked them in 2 of 3 brackets to go to the Sweet 16.  They are for real!

People were talking about Beasley the same way before the Badgers/K-state game.  Not that the Badgers shut him down, but kept him uncomfortable at times and quiet.  The badgers can do the same thing to Curry.  Hopefully.  I'm not over-confident though.

I haven't watched Davidson play.  I missed both of their games in the tourny.  The seem small based on their roster.  What is their style of play?

What is their style of play?

Lots of screens and great guard play.  They have some big men capable of making jumpers, but they're not really post up threats.  They'll also push it to get a team off-balance and work very well when things get disorganized on loose balls.

Thanks Jakpot,
Do you think that the badgers are well suited for defending screen play?

Also, I feel that the baders will out rebound davidson and this will cut down on fast breaks, and loose ball situations.  I believe this will give WI a key advantage and allow them to pull out a win.
How does Davidson defend against WI style of patient play, taking open shots, and using the big guys down low?

I was very impressed with Curry as well as Davidson as a whole. I think the thing that gives the Badgers the advantage in this one is Michael Flowers. He is a shut dow defender MI St did their best to screen Neitzel and get him looks and Flowers completley shut him down in the first game and made him work hard for it in the Big Ten tourney. I do not think Curry has seen a Defender like Flowers before. He gets through screens, and does not give a player many clean looks. Flowers will have Curry so spent trying to get the Ball that curry will be tired on the defense.

This is just my humble opinion and wish Curry and Davidson good luck and hope for a good game.

Personally, I don't think anyone can be "well suited" for defending the screens that are set for Curry.  His shot is so quick, that even the best defenders alone can't make up for the small amount of room needed for him to get a quality shot off.  Georgetown had several guys watching and helping to contain Curry for much of the game, and still could not contain him.

With all the attention being paid to Curry, Jason Richards was then able to take his man off the dribble on many occassions resulting in many reach in fouls or baskets for Richards.  Bluntly, I'm saying that Curry is going to get his shots and score some points, or someone else will because of all the pressure he's taking off, that's inevitable.

Where I think Wisconsin has the ability to take control would be to slow the game down like they usually do and limit Davidson's opportunities.  Wisconsin is big enough to take it inside on Davidson and score consistently.  If Davidson is cold early on like they were in the Georgetown game, that could mean another big deficit.  Limiting the amount of possessions they have in the second half would then probably put the game away.  The only way to do that is to limit the number of turnovers, which is what killed Georgetown.

If Wisconsin can execute like that, then I feel my Wildcats are in trouble.  My hope is Davidson comes out pushing the ball into Lovedale down low in hopes of drawing some quick fouls like they did with Hibbert.  If Wisconsin's big men start to get timid, that changes everything.  Also, if other players in addition to Curry start hitting some shots (Paulus-Gosselin, Lovedale, and Archambault all had good looks and couldn't knock em down), Wisconsin is not necessarily a team that is used to scoring a lot to keep pace.

Should be a fun game.

I fully agree Curry has probably the prettiest shot in tourney to date. I have not watched alot of Davidson I can only go with what they did to GT. I just do not think GT has a defender like Flowers. Curry will get his great players always step up. You are right though WI has the ability to slow the game down. Both Fullerton and Kstate pushed it and even got the Badgers running a bit. IT is definetly a good matchup. A 10 seed team playing a team who feals they are getting no Respect, They think they should have been a 2 seed. Agree or not that is how they feal. As far as getting WI big guys in Foul trouble history points the other way. Wi has a nack of gettting to line while keeping the other teams off it.

Either way I think it will be good game fundemntals will be the key.
