It's over for the Joplin era; nice guy couldn't get into the tourney had a really bad year; lot's of things went bad for him.  Good luck Stan!

Well, when you consider Toledo hadn't been in the NCAA tournament since 79-80, that's definitely a sign something needs to change. Last year preserved his job, winning the MAC regular season title, but not even coming close to .500 killed him.

Just adds to what has been an interesting year for Toledo basketball. This was going to be a rough year for the Rockets losing 4 seniors from last year squad. We have the Scooter betting scandal on our team. Then we lose our best defender (senior PG Payne)  for god knows what reason, I dont know about you, but I personally think those 2 things are linked. Now Joplin is gone, what a crazy year.

There is more drama here than the theater club.. Things have to settle down sometime dont they?

I'm with you.  I think Stan Joplin is a class guy that I hope lands on his feet and gets another opportunity.

It will be interesting to see who UT hires.  I know one person UT should stay away from.  DO NOT let Ronnie Thompson on your campus!!!!!!!!
