I didn't see that coming.  Indiana got what they deserved and State got a bone.  I'm fairly excited about the bracket, except for Texas in Houston - should that matchup happen.  What a great seeding, Go State.

I was surprised that we got a 5 and Purdue got a 6.  I thought Purdue would get a better seed than us.

Oh well!  I'm not arguing!

MSU should save the travel money and just conceed. They are horrible and will with out a doubt sh@t the bed and be on their way home two hours and fifteen minutes into the tourney. You watch, the big ten is going to get destroyed this year. State has been a complete failure this year, Morgan will go two for fifteen, leave after the season for the NBA. In two years he will be serving fries at the local BK. Izzo has been the greatest failure to all his loyal fans like me. You can't consistently turn the ball over 15 times a game and win. Get the team prepared!!!! Amaker could have done more with the load of talent that team has. It's really just sad that this talented team just sucks. It is just a poorly coached team, bottom line! I know no one will ever speak ill will of Izzo, but with that much talent, you have blame coaching.

CTMMSU- you consider yourself a loyal fan?  Have a little faith in the team.  Neitzel is hot right now, and once we face a defense that's not top 5 in the nation the rest will fall into place.  Izzo coaches to win championships.  That's still a possibility for this year, and we have a decent shot at a Final Four.  Wait until we've actually lost before you judge this year's team.

I actually bought the $100.00 tickets for Detroit.  I have not missed a game in like ten years, even if I have to catch the box updates on my phone.  I thought this would be our year.  I will glad if they do well, but I do not see it.  How many times have you scene a ball just thrown out of bounds when there is miscommunication.  They are just routinely "Out Of Sinc".  Explain why a highly talented team, turns the ball over as much as we do, and has lost some of the games we have.  Yes we beat Texas, but Yes we lost Iowa and scored like 38 points.  I actually felt better about are chances last year than I do this year.  I hope they prove me wrong, but I am not doing my standard MSU to the final four to ruin my brackets.

A number #5 seed is fair for this years Spartan Basketball team. They finished 4th in a very bad Big 10 Conference during the regular season, lost in the semi-finals in the Big 10 tournament, finished with a 25-8 overall record, went 4-5 against Top 25 teams and their final regualr season ranking was #19 by the AP Poll and #20 in the Coache poll.  Add all these together and the Spartans got the right seed.

Good luck MSU it will be very interesting to see if this basketball team is capable of winning more then one game in this years tournament. I can't see one Big 10 team winning more then one game in this years tournament. Hope I can be proven wrong!

GO BIG 10, GO BLUE! (10 yrs and counting...)

CTMMSU,

Oh how I love posts like yours :) It's people like you that truly ignite the passion for our Spartans with ridiculous claims. The Big Ten has been the second best represented conference in the last 5 years in the NCAA tournament. I see no reason why that would crumble this season, with all four of our entries being ranked in the top 25 at season's end. And Raymar, if he went 2-15, do you really think he could go pro with a finale like that? Haha, it's clear you don't watch MSU games or else you wouldn't waste your time. I'm not even going to get started on your Izzo comments. I'd just like to thank you for your efforts to unite all Spartan fans. Go Green!

OK let's assess the damage. Let me say first off that I LOVE MSU! I am an alum and spent 4 of my best years there, huge fan.

CTMMSU, I understand your frustration. I was throwing things and yelling at the top of my lungs. I spewed choice words at Izzo and was throughly disappointed. Time after time this team has underachieved and at the end of the day, I lose my voice, my pockets will be lighter after I visit Home Depot and BBand B, and friends are left wondering whether I should be committed or not. I don't care, I LOVE MY SPARTANS! Let me act a fool just for them, only them.

Now after the dust settled. I apologized to the neighbors and watched the rest of the games because after all this is the best time of year. We did the best we could with what we have. We don't have Ager and Brown slashing, dashing, attacking the rim while Davis proves to be a major presence in the paint (3 second round NBA draft picks). We have Neitzel. Opposing teams know that he is a force and they key on him. Morgan may or may not show up (By the way, he ain't goin anywhere. He needs to settle down, take a yoga class in the off season so that he can focus better, and step up his game). Suton pitches in when he can and is fairly consistent. We just have limited talent. If I could, I would personally apologize to Coach Izzo for my outburst. Everytime they cut away to him, he appears to be in complete and utter disbelief. If you poled the other coaches, they would put him in the top ten of their fraternity. Cut to reality.

We got a 5 seed which honestly is pretty damn good. We get Temple. OK but Don Cheney is gone. This is not your big brother's Temple. What made me revisit my aforementioned mania was that Seth Davis flat out said twice that Temple will beat MSU in the first round. Sorry Dude, you better keep your eyes on your Duke Blue Devils. They should beat Belmont but could get worked by West Virginia. I digress. MSU will compete like we always do at tourney time. We can send Neitzel to the next level with a couple of 2008 tourney wins under his belt and welcome next year's recruits, who by the way are stellar. Next year's team is expected to be better than this years and I think the Final Four is at Ford Field (correct me if I'm wrong). Do you see where I am going? I will say it once again, I LOVE MY SPARTANS!  WE ARE A FORCE. Our team needs us to have faith. We are some of the most frenzied, most faithful fans in the NCAA. Spartan fans, dig in cause March Madness is here and we are to be respected. GO GREEN!

my pockets will be lighter after I visit Home Depot and BBand B . . . I apologized to the neighbors and watched the rest of the games because after all this is the best time of year.

That is hilarious.  I made a trip out to the garage for some spackle and paint supplies after Saturday afternoon's game as well.  Apparently, my aim when enraged is not very good.  When the self-destruction was over and Neitzel missed the final shot of the game, I picked up and threw one of my 15-month-old daughter's heavy-duty picture books at the brick fire place mantle from a distance of about 6 feet . . . and missed badly, hitting the wall and putting a very impressive gash into the drywall.  Let me just tell you, my wife was not particularly impressed with that display of stupidity.
