Here is what I am wanting to see.

1: Skip Schumaker -RF
2: Rick Ankiel -CF
3: Albert Pujols -1B
4: Chris Duncan -LF
5: Troy Glaus -3B
6: Aaron Miles -2B
7: Yadier Molina -C
8: Pitcher
9: Brendan Ryan -SS

I don't like having the pitcher hit 8th, but TLR will probably do it. This leaves Barton, Ludwick, Kennedy, Izturis, Gonzalez, and Gibson on the bench.

SP:
1: Adam Wainwright
2: Braden Looper
3: Kyle Lohse
4: Todd Wellemeyer
5: Anthony Reyes

Piniero and Clement will replace Wellemeyer and Reyes by the end of April.

I think this should be a winning team, especially with Mulder and Carpenter coming back.

I forgot LaRue, obviously a few bench guys will be sent down.

You got the pitching part pretty right on, but the linup should go something like this...

  1. Skip Schumaker - RF
  2. Brian Barton - LF
  3. Albert Pujols - 1B
  4. Rick Ankiel - CF
  5. Troy Glaus - 3B
  6. Yadier Molina - C
  7. Adam Kennedy - 2B
  8. Pitcher (TLR is going right direction with this I think)
  9. Cesar Izturis - SS

Although I wouldn't write off Reyes so fast... this kid honestly has good stuff. If he can control it I got him as a 15 game winner this year.

No doubt this is a winning team.

What's the deal with Colby Rasmus? Is he going to AAA to start the season, or will he make the opening day roster? If he makes the roster, will he be starting or the #4 OF?

  1. Brian Barton CF
  2. Rick Ankiel RF
  3. Albert Pujols 1B
  4. Troy Glaus 3B
  5. Chris Duncan LF
  6. Yadier Molina C
  7. Brendan Ryan SS
  8. P
  9. Adam Kennedy

Starting Pitching

  1. Adam Wainwright
  2. Kyle Lohse
  3. Braden Looper
  4. Anthony Reyes
  5. Todd Wellemeyer

That is what im hoping  to see with Clement and Piniero replacing Looper and Wellemeyer because Reyes lives up to his potential

I think you've pretty much hit the lineup on the head with the exception of Glaus and Duncan switching spots. Hopefully Duncan gets off to a hot start and we can deal him at the end of April and let Barton play everyday.

I just don't know that Duncan has done enough to get the starting spot in LF this year.  He has 1 base hit in ST.  Barton, Ankiel, Schumaker, and even Ludwick are hitting the ball very well and I can't see Duncan getting the nod over them right now.  I personally am a Duncan fan unlike most people but right now doesn't deserve the starting spot but he will probably get.

1 Shumaker w/ righty on mound

2 Barton or ludwick

3Pujols

4 Ankiel

5 Glaus

6 Molina

7 Kennedy

8 Pitcher

9 Izturis

TLR has been looking at the stats and Glaus's # in the 4 spot are not that great so Ankiel maybe protecting Pujols.

I am just unsure about the 2 hole and who will produce in that position

Hitmen,

I don't see Colby Rasmus making the opening day lineup.  It's not that I don't think he's good enough, but for a couple reasons.

1.  We have plenty of talent in the outfield to not have to push his progress.  Let him get some everyday play until he is guarenteed an everyday spot in the big show.

2.  If he starts 1 day in AAA his arbitration and free agency is pushed back a full year.  So it would be a bad business move to put him on the opening day roster.

I just don't think there is any way he makes the opening day cut for those two reasons alone.  I think we will probably see him about mid season.
