1st 2-3 holes suck
3-13 holes freakin rock
14-18 you see 3 balls and hit the one in the middle
rock on John....

I hope there is a great explanation for this other than John has fooled us again. It would be great for the tour if John could get himself under control. This would be typical JD however, just when it looks as if he finally gets 'IT' by hiring Butch, he screws up again and leaves his fans hanging. Come on John--Straighten up or go away

The responses to this are a shining example of why john Daly is going to be found dead. This is not a joke, and it is not a matter of opinion. It is not whether or not you think he has the 'right' to what he does. It is not whether you AGREE with what he does. the one and only truth is that the man is committing suicide in broad daylight, and people are not only paying to see it, but justifying it, and cheering him on while he does it. I am not some fanatical 12-stepper, nor am I some 'holier-than-thou' blow hard. I can, however, see this for what it is.
Any of you guys that are naive enough to think it's okay for him to behave as he does should take a closer look at what he's truly doing. Who, in their right mind would do the things he does, and lose the money, respect, and health that he has, and lost, and continues to lose on a regular basis? Nobody would. Daly is a 2-time major winner with the talent to have racked up several more by now. he could have taken control of his life, and his career, and instead is a slave to alcohol.
And why is allowed to do it? Because we flock to see him, paying millions to the sponsors along the way. We pay dearly to watch the train wreck.
He's sick. He's dying. And we're applauding and spurring him on. We should be ashamed

Yeah, I am afraid that JD has reached bottom...again. I am a big fan , but I am getting tired of his lackadaisical attitude towards everything lately. I mean, he put John Gruden on the bag halfway thru the first round at the PODS last week after pounding beer for a few hours.
Most importantly, he needs help. He was on the wagon a few years back when he won the Buick in San Diego (famously living on Diet Coke and cigarettes) and he has now been run over by the wagon. It's just a damn shame. He has a big heart, he's funny, but he really needs to get his $hit together before he ends up doing non-stop autograph sessions at all 300 Hooters locations to pay alimony.

Harmon can "fire" Daly because at the level of notoriety Harmon has achieved as a teaching pro he can pick and choose whichever professionals he wants to work with. When a teacher and pro get together, that teacher has to allocate a large percentage of his time on and off the course to help that player achieve his goals. It is a partnership with an investment made by both people, and Daly is obviously not honoring his commitment to work on his game and get better. Therefore, he was wasting Harmon's time and effort and can therefore be "fired". How can you like someone for "not giving a sh!$" about their profession or life? He's an alcoholic whose personal life is in ruin and his professional life is spiraling right down with it. The man needs some help!

Well said....I just hope that this DQ doesnt do soem severe damage, like you said finding him dead somewhere....He was actually on his way to the course when he found out not to bother, did someone really tell him the wrong time, but yes I know you are suppose to know your own tee times...or did he just screw up up again....he wasnt the only one DQ'd, two others also....
I just hope he does get himself into some rehab and comes back, if they allow him to now he is only on sponsors exemptions...I highly doubt we will see him again this year....sad, but true....

A friend of mine played with Daly during the US Open Regional qualifying round a few years back. His take on Daly is that's he's basically a clown. Great golfer, but a clown. This week's events prove that he's not going to change. I do feel bad for Imada, he's one of the hottest golfers on tour right now and another top ten finish this week would have propelled him into the Masters (which i believe he's never qualified for...). Way to go John...

Steve, my opinion is that you are a twit. Your "cup of tolerance has long since runneth over"? Who the hell do you think you are!? Is it your argument then that the PGA should purge itself of members who have personal problems? Whose public behavior does not conform to the expectations of stick-up-their-keyster judgmental jerks like yourself? Sorry Steve-o, I guess we missed your rule book for how to comport yourself public-wise. Can you see it in your vast infinite wisdom to forgive us (for we know not what we do)? I don't see why John Daly should have his livelihood taken away because he likes beer and women's butts. The repercussions on the other aspects of his life are HIS problem, not yours! If you want to ban someone why don't you start with yourself. The charge...being a complete tool.
