im getting tired of all this officiating stuff. bad calls happen all the time. whats disturbing to me is how poorly the Bruins play all game and then turn it on in the last 5 min. that has to change during the tourney or the UCLA is looking at an early exit. every team is going to bring their A game, so we cant afford to be down 11 every game and have to fight back. Cal has no business being up 11, it should have been UCLA up 11 the whole game. they need to step that ish up.

I absolutely agree.  I'm hoping that Howland figures out something real quick or we're going to be dead in the water against a fast running team like Memphis or Tennessee that can start the game with a 30 point lead instead of just 10.

Relax. If the Bruins don't hit their jumpers the offense looks ugly. Period. The Arizona game was in Tucson against a desperate team. Stanford played a great game, don't they deserve credit for that? Today we came out flat, expected, and the defense was not up to it's normal standards. Some of that is due in large part to Westbrook and Mbah a Moute both struggling with ankle injuries, and teams isolating Love and drawing his man outside. These are correctable things, UCLA is still finding a way to win. Put it this way. Lavins' teams lose the last three. Enough said. Go Bruins.

Slow starts will kill you in March. UCLA may be the single most talented team in the country with 8 players that are legit starters on 95% of NCAA teams. But giving up big first half leads is a like playing with dynomite it is gonna blow up in your face sooner or later.

It's as simple as match ups to me. UCLA doesn't match up with Cal or Stanford (what team in the country does). I'd like to see the Bruins run a bit more, but that negates Love's impact down low. The players all seem in agreement that they get over hyped and come out flat in big games. Their tournament pedigree and Coach Howland's track record suggest they'll be fine once the tournament begins.

I was at the game on Saturday. The biggest problem was they could not penetrate. Makes no sense to me since they have Westbrook and Collison. Those guys are great penetrators but could not do a thing against Cal.  Team of destiny or just darn lucky to win the last two?

"UCLA doesn't match up with Cal or Stanford (what team in the country does)."

North Carolina, Memphis, Kansas, Georgetown and UCONN come to mind.  All have at least two solid post players and have much better perimeter players.  UCLA would be a member of that list if Mbah a Moute was healthy and performing like the 05-06 version of himself.

He's shooting 50% or better and double-double. With Shipp is not shooting well as of late, we need another scorer aside from Love, Collison and Westbrook. We also need Mbah a Moute's defense.
