I'm not a Buckeye fan actually, i'm a Michigan fan, and i think we grew from our SUPER tough sched this year.
The reason why i don't think it would be in Ohio Stat's interest to play Kent State is because i beleive Kent State has a good to great chance in beating them, and by playing a team like Kent State, losing to them would be a lot worse than losing to a tough team like UCLA, or Kansas or whoever. I Think a loss to Kent State would look bad for Ohio State, so i don't think they would be too excited about that matchup.
Good Luck in the tourney too, congrats.

Oh wow, do you know anything about college basketball? You might want to check the AP and Coaches Poll! As a top 25 ranked team, it would not hurt OSU to take a loss to Kent any more than it would to lose to UCLA, much less a loss to Michigan. A team it's not in the best interest of OSU to lose to would be Michigan. Their RPI went straight through the floor on the coattails of that recent Michigan loss.
The Big-Ten attitude is upsetting. Acting like Mid-Major teams aren't worth playing because they are bad losses is completely ignorant. There are hundreds of teams out there in weaker conferences that will hand most big-ten teams their butts on any given day.

You osu fans are so arrogant, smug, and delusional. Is there any wonder why everyone considers you a bunch of clowns? The original poster made a simple comment that playing osu would (be a good game to see). And then...WHAM - here comes your caustic responses. Wow, you should be proud of yourselves. What in the world does the Sears trophy have to do with playing a BB game with Kent? And a whole lot better judges of basketball talent than yourselves have them ranked in the Top 25. Where's osu? After your showing today against that powerhouse Minn. team, I would think you would cool your jets. But you won't. Enjoy the NIT.

Why was the Sears Cup brought into the conversation? Because of this quote from the origional poster:
"Just because you are in the Big-Ten doesn't mean you can really make fun of the MAC, you're forgetting that football is the only sport you can beat Kent in with any consistency"
Any sport other than football? I haven't seen Kent State ranked in the top ten lately in men's soccer, or men's volleyball, or wrestling, or fencing, or women's basketball, or ... For that matter, I haven't seen KSU in the top ten in men's basketball, either (and in case you forgot, OSU was #1 for a decent chunck of last season and played in the championship game - that's two wins further in the Tourney than KSU has ever been.) I have nothing against Kent State or other Ohio schools but that quote reeked of ignorance. Yes, Ohio State will play in the NIT this season (unless they choke out of that even) and yes, Kent State has been doing very well in men's basketball the last 8-10 years. That's great for them. But it doesn't justify a quote that football is the only sport in which Ohio State can dominate it's in-state brethren. It would justify a quote that Ohio State can't dominate other in-state schools in men's basketball year-in and year-out anymore, but that isn't exactly what he said, is it?

I'd like to see it. Kent would have a good shot at beating them. Especially this year. In fact, Kent, Akron, and MiamiOH would all have a good chance at beating Ohio State this year.

The bad thing is, Kent State lost to another no name team (Bowling Green).
That gives them a loss to Detroit, Bowling Green, Ohio, and Toledo.

Yep, that loss could keep them out of the big dance if they don't win the MAC tourney.

Yez Sirze, Kent St is the real deal. Next season they will play and hopefully Terrol Pryor will be on the team so he can be embarresed by a crap school like Kent St. Even then maybe Ohio U will also be the Buckeyes. Life is great, Now that Michigan finaly beat Ohio St at something the tides have turned for the way better. OSU can dig a grave and bring on the Ncaa Implications

You guys should come play Kent State next season, that or we could play you there. I think that a Big 10 matchup would be nice for a change! I agree Kballard122. That would have been a great game this year. Not sure why the Bucks don't schedule more in-state opponents in basketball. They would certainly be more competitive than the ones they schedule in football.
