If Portland had to package some current players and draft picks to get a stud point guard or quality shooting guard...who would you let go?  My top 5:

1. Jack:  Not showing much

2. Outlaw:  High value now

3. Sergio:  Not neccesary

4. Webster:  Not consistant

5. Jones:  Injury prone

I would package any combination of these players:

Jarrett Jack: I believe he has peaked and makes a decent backup PG. Plus he is too inconsistant as a shooter

Raef LaFrentz: I'm sure we can find a team in need of another big body who can play 10 quality minutes per game.

Martel Webster: Has confidence issues...probably will for his entire career. think he had high potential, but believe he will never be more than what he's shown thus far.

Darius Miles: Injury concerns and a head case but still young, very athletic, and can get it done on the wing.

Sergio Rodriguez: He's an energizer with skills, but has the communication barrier and fails to listen most times to the coach. Doesn't fit with our plans.

Von Wafer: Who the hell is this guy? I never would have gotten rid of Green...especially for this.

And had you asked this question before the season I would have included James Jones, but he has shown me enough to want to keep him. He's a consistant 3 pt. scorer and plays good Defense. but as far as him being an essential piece to our future, he is not.

Quacks- I agree with you on everybody but Outlaw. This guy is way to good and way to young to get rid of. I like Martell and think that he is somewhat of a sparkplug for the blazers, but i think he could be traded. And as far as getting a point guard Rudy Fernandez is coming over from spain next year and fromwhat I hear is vry good and he is only 26. I think Jack's time is done he seems to find perfect times to turn the ball over or make a stupid mistake and lets guys get in his head. I like Jones besides outlaw i think he would be the other one that they could keep, his presecne on the floor draws the D out and alows other shooters to get their shots.

Good call on Von Wafer "Who the hell is this guy? I never would have gotten rid of Green...especially for this.

Von Wafer- Game 1 Box Score:

<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" border="0"> <tbody> <tr class="ysptblthbody1 yspboxscore-columnheader-row" align="right"> <td class="yspdetailttl player" align="left" width="17%" height="18"> Bench </td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="4%">  </td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="7%"> Min</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="7%"> FG</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="6%"> 3Pt</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="6%"> FT</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="6%"> +/-</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> Off</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> Reb</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> Ast</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> TO</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> Stl</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> BS</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> BA</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="5%"> PF</td> <td class="yspdetailttl" width="7%"> Pts</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" border="0"> <tbody> <tr class="ysprow2" align="right"> <td class="player" align="left">   V. Wafer </td> <td class="player">  </td> <td> 31:47</td> <td> 4-10</td> <td> 2-5</td> <td> 1-2</td> <td> +8 </td> <td> 0</td> <td> 5</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 2</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 1</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 2</td> <td> 11</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

Wafer did that in 1 game, Green hasn't even combine that the entire year. We needed another SG, not a point. 6-0FT vs. 6-5FT.

Keep everyone make move in the offseason.  Let these guys play a lot and auditon for a spot on another team.  Trade bait in the offseason.  If I had to pick one it would be Lafrentz, and Miles for sure.  Everyone else will become Super Star and then we will be cursing the Blazzers again for yet another stupid move.  My .02

I would like the team let go or trade Darius Miles we are paying him to much for sitting and taking a spot that we could use to develop a young player. I would also like to see LaFrentz traded to another team for a pick or a player to develop. Jarrett Jack can also be let go of. Everyone  else I think we should hang on to especially Travis Outlaw, why would we get rid of him he is a good player that can come off the bench and give us a spark, and is a valuable back-up I think he did great against Kobe and kept his composure when the refs were letting Kobe foul him all the time.

Number one would have to be Jarrett Jack.  He is too inconsistent; he randomly has good games(such as the last one against the Clippers), but he seems to very frequently turn the ball over whenever it is a close game in the 4th. it's almost guaranteed that he is gone next year, because Blake is more reliable and can shoot 3s, Sergio, though he is more inconsistent than Jack now, has more potential, Roy might eventually move to the point, and the Blazers could seek a marquee point guard free agent(Paul).

Of those 5 I would say keep Outlaw, and Jones and maybe Jack.  I think Jack makes a good back up to Steve Blake.  Outlaw is defintely coming into his own on both sides of the ball.  He can light 'em up on any given night and has proven to be a potential 6th man of the year candidate.  Jones is pretty good defender and can light up from the 3 point circle.

Sergio and Webster have shown signs of being good players but lack consistency, especially Webster.  Even though Webster is young, you'd think he'd have picked up the NBA game now and would show a little more confidence.  Sergio is a spark plug off the bench but there are too many other PG's in front of him that are much better all around players.

One player you forgot to mention is Darius Miles.  Get rid of this punk.  He's got a bad attitude and has never lived up to his potential throughout his NBA career (plus he's a bad actor).  He's a cancer on the team could only be a bad influence on some of the younger players.  I think the Blazers need to do whatever they need to do to get rid of him whether be via trade or just buy out his contract like they did with Steve Francis.

I didn't mention D Miles because he's a given.  Dude is only collecting a pay check.  I have to say that Jack has been blowing up these last few games.  He must read CBS...ha ha ha.

Good point on Miles.  I hope the punk never plays another game in a Blazer uniform.

As for Jack, he was great against LA (both the Clippers and the Lakers).  We all know what he is capable of, I just wish he could do it more consistently.  I wonder who we could get for him.........

I would be willing to give up Steve Blake and Frye, even though Steve Blake has been shooting pretty well lately, he seems to see passes to late. Also when was the last time you have seen him drive to the basket. And Frye, not impressed I got hosed by getting him for Bobble Head night. I'm A fan of Prasprilla(butchered) but what are they going to do with him when Oden gets back next year.

I would get rid of Sergio and probably Martell.  We need a back up point guard so we couldnt get rid of both sergio and jack.  Outlaw is breaking out and could be an all star soon so id say hell no to that.  Jones is the 3 point shooter we have needed.  He frees up a lot of space inside for lamarcus when he is on the court because defenders need to respect him and cant crash down.  You are right in that Sergio is not neccessary and Webster has been too inconsistant, but we all forget he came out of high school we will probably keep him for 1 more year and see if he develops. I believe he is a little bit too 1 dimensional for what we need
