I've watched 24K play for his entire career and he is an amazing player. The scouts question his explosiveness? This guy has ripped off so many long runs for TD's in games I've seen, you'd be crazy to think he lacks speed. He's as durable of a back as you've ever seen play, 46 carries in a game? That's sick. The NFL draft is a crapshoot, he might go after the bigger names in the draft but some GM will be heralded as a shrewd evaluator of talent picking Kevin. Good luck Mr. Smith, thanks for the great memories at UCF!! Go Kights!!
Kevin Smith is an awesome player, with speed, intelligence, and great vision. He will tear up the NFL, and someone is going to look great grabbing him in the second or third round, after a few busts have been taken at runningback in the first and second round.
He ate my Golden Eagles up in '06 before his name was even on the radar, and I've followed him since. He's gotten better it seems in every game he plays, regardless of how many yards he racks up. I'd love to see his draft stock climb, but I wouldn't mind him dropping and some team take him and he comes in and dominates and I believe he will. He reminds me of Deuce McAllister the way he plays. 1st hits don't stop him and the reason he "glides" is because his mechanics are so good. He doesn't look like he's forcing the explosion, it just happens. He's powerful and 2500 yards says so. He's your next Larry Johnson, folks. That dude carried the Chiefs for seasons by carrying the ball 30+ times a game and Smith can do the same. Good luck Kev, as a great C-USA competitor, I'll be an enthusiastic supporter in the pros.
I think he is going to be an amazing back in the NFL once he gets the chance to shine. He has all the talent that is needed in the NFL. I dont understand the speed issue. He proved it today running a 4.43 40. Sure it wont be the fastest time but it's respectable. He can also catch the ball, I watched it happen a few times the past few seasons. I think once people see him for what he is he will move up in the draft.
After watching the Liberty Bowl, even though he never really had a game-breaking run, I was impressed with his durability after watching our (Mississippi State's) defense get to him all night and he kept getting back up. All the best to Kevin Smith in the draft.
I have also watched K-Smith carry the ball throughout his career at UCF, and what a treat it was! When Jerry Rice entered the NFL, the book on him was he didn't have blazing speed. His combine time in the 40 was decent, but what he showed (and what Kevin will show also) is that he knows how to accelerate with the football. This kid can play at game speed, and is tough. His motor just doesn't stop!
Kevin Smith is the best RB in this class, you will see in year to come. I like Charles as well but the rest of this class will be a bust. McFadden and Johnson are over-rated because of their speed, they will be a joke. Kevin Smith is a beast and he will tear up the NFL once he gets a chance to get some experience. I think you guys are exactly right, he will make some GM look like a genius. I don't understand how some analyst slide Johnson by him when Johnson couldn't do anything close to what Smith did in C-USA. Kevin Smith is the real deal. I wish he would have stayed, I think UCF could have surprised some people next year and I think Kevin Smith would have shattered a lot of records.

There are alot of quality backs in the draft this season, but nobody even came close to matching what 24K did! He will end up being the steal of the 2008 NFL Draft, because he'll get overlooked coming from UCF and C-USA. But like Asante Samuel, Atari Bigby, Brandon Marshall, and Daunte Culpepper before him, he'll prove that UCF can produce NFL caliber players. GM of the year to the team that picks him up.
