LH SAID:
Stop hogging the boards with your bull and let the season begin. You have more posts on the Mets boards then Met fans do. I find that a little strange.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
How many METS' FANS feel I'm hogging The Mets' board?
How many Phillies' Fans feel like Mets' fan LH that I post too much on The Phillies' board?
How many Phillies' fans feel we need MORE Mets' fans here?

Tal, according to your figuring, you'll have 7 starters winning more than 10 games. That sounds very realistic. When was the last time the Phillies had 4 starters with 10 wins ?
Good luck with those 10 wins. And Eaton, lol, the guy with the highest ERA in the league last year wins 10 - 12 games, sure.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
LH,
You are so correct: it has been MONTHS since The Phillies have had 4 guys win 10 games. Here is the last time:
1- HAMELS 15-5
2- MOYER 14-12
3- KENDRICK 10-4
4- EATON 10-10
As you can see from last years numbers, we missed that goal; because games w/ Eaton vs. Los Mets cannot be counted, as he was 2-0 w/ the team being 4-0 in his starts.
For the 7 pitchers: if you can understand my language, you'd notice that I listed pitchers both ways: if we get Lohse, if Eaton rebounds to past NL seasons after a career-bad year--I know J-Roll had a career year and will drop BIG TIME, but only Mets like Delgado can rebound--if Benson starts for 4 months
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
YOU:
Fact is, your blowing smoke because all your predictions sound like that of a die-hard Phillie fan with wishful thinking.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Last June you said The Phillies would win 6 games; and when you realized that it was a 4 game series w/ the fourth game on 7/1, you saw a 3 game series of PHL vs. NYM and took away a win to equal 5 wins in June for Philly. Remember, we'd be a comfortable 14 games back, which would then change to 15. Your prediction for PHL & NYM in June wasn't as close as my predictions for The Phillies for June-July-August-Sept. TOTAL.
MY CALL FOR THE FINAL FOUR MONTHS: 65-44, but I was way off w/ 63-46 was the reality.
My call for June: 15-13. The Phillies were 15-13. YOUR CALL: 5-23.
Your call would have put Los Mets @ 46-35, while The Phillies would drop to 31-50.
AND The Braves would be 8 games in front of us, also. And 7 games behind Los Mets.

LH,
BTW, Benson's call is 8-10 wins, not 10 wins. You a farmer? 'Cause you sure can cherry-pick w/ the best of them.

EVEN BETTER:
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- New York Mets chief executive officer Fred Wilpon said he did not mind outfielder Carlos Beltran's boast.
In fact, Wilpon added one of his own.
"I expect to be in the playoffs and deep into the playoffs," Wilpon said Tuesday at the Mets' spring training complex. "That's our expectation."

The Mets should change their name to the Metsicans since their entire team is hispanic. Rumor has it that all Mets games will only be broadcast on Telemundo this year.

There should be another level for tolerence level. For that I rate you a zero.
Have a nice season putz.

Dwanger, your destined to be a superstar on the Phillie boards with your racial remarks. Sounds like your learning from Tal.
Wonder what your take would be if the Phabulous Phils had another half dozen hispanics. You'd probably be calling the Mets "White Bread Mets".

I think David Wright needs to change his name to 'David Wrightriguez' so he fits in with the rest of his teammates.

Calling me a body part in another language? It's 11/06, BTW. I was showing who made the post, not the reputation. Why would I care to impress you or anyone else? Who are you the post monitor?
BTW, sorry, old chum, I know you abhor me using your own words in my defense.

MORE HUMBLE CLASS FROM NYM:
The Mets and Phillies feud is still going on, and Pedro Martinez is jumping in threating brawls. It will be an exciting first series.

Tal,
Pedro said that? When did he say this? Maybe he was just horsing around with a few media guys, he does that sometimes. But on the other hand while he was with the RedSox, he threw Don Zimmer to the ground during a brawl with the Yanks so you never know. The guy throws a lot on the inside corner so I hope philly fans don't go nuts everytime he comes inside.

MORE FROM CARLOS:
Beltran, though, isn't backing down from his guarantee of a division title.
"I have nothing against Rollins, and I have a lot of respect for what he's done," Beltran said yesterday, "but this year is going to be different."

NY POST.
Mets, Phillies GO MOUTH TO MOUTH
PEDRO FIRES BACK AS TALK ADDS FUEL TO FEUD
By BART HUBBUCH
YOU TALKIN' TO ME? Pedro Martinez says he's ready for whatever the Phillies throw at the mets this season, including threats of a brawl.
February 22, 2008 -- PORT ST. LUCIE - If the Phillies want to brawl, Pedro Martinez says the Mets will put up their dukes.
Told yesterday that several Philadelphia players expect the budding NL East rivals to come to blows this season, Martinez responded with a dare.
"I don't believe there's a reason to be fighting, but we're over here," Pedro told The Post yesterday. "Basically, if [they're] going to have to brawl or whatever, we're over here. We'll wait."
"There were guys in the [Phillies] locker room the other day suggesting there will be a brawl - b-r-a-w-l," Stark told Philadelphia radio station WPEN this week.
The idea of a good on-field melee or two with the Phillies brought a smile to Willie Randolph's face yesterday. The Mets manager, who earlier in his talk with reporters bemoaned the absence of bitter rivalries in baseball, beamed when Stark's comments were relayed.
"That's what I'm talking about," said Randolph, another veteran of the Yankees-Red Sox hatefest. "That's how you build a rivalry. That's really how it goes."
