Well since I've spent the majority of the past 2 years over seas, some of the games I've seen Ole Miss play, they didn't do too bad, just seems like they couldn't score when it mattered most, but hopefully that changes this year, especially coming home finally. I'd love to see the Rebs beat Alabama, Auburn, and Miss St. (I hate the Dawgs) I believe they stand a good chance, they last to Bama by a field goal, so its not a far stretch, especially with the new coach, it maybe what we need.
And next year I hope we get to the College World Series!!!
I've also seen the Rebs play in just a handful of games recently because of deployments, but I have seen a lot of potential in the few games I've been able to catch. I think beating Auburn this year is really a stretch but believe Bama and State are both winable. I think we have 6 wins and 3 losses on the schedule with Wake, Arkansas, and Bama all being toss ups. If we could win 1 or 2 of the those, it will be a good season considering how the last few have gone. Hopefully our Rebels will be 3-0 when I return from my deployment! And yes, there's always dreams of next year for the CWS!
I feel for you guys. I served during Desert Storm and Shield and in Somalia. It is a hard deal. most people have know idea what you guys go through. Cappie MREs, tent life, boredom, and lack of things you love and miss and then that time is followed up with moments of shear terror and pain, Most have no idea what it is like to leave a tent you hate and pray to God that you get to see that piece of $hit tent at the end of a mission. You know if you are in the tent you made it back alive and well. Best of luck and keep low.
P.S. The only difference between a coward and a hero is the direction they run when the shooting starts.
MRE's have gotten alot better over the past 2 years though, I'll give them that.... Still end up constipated every now and then. But as far as the boredom thing, in Iraq it depended on your MOS. I'm an embarker and there was never a dull moment, because being a Marine you could do anything, patrols and stuff, every day was new adventure, I'd go back in a heart beat
P.S. as far a Hummvee's go I wouldn't own one, nothing to do with gas prices, they're complete pieces of $h!t
Get 2 canteens and drink the hell out of them all day long. That will help with the constipation. I remember that I got it bad several times and that was the cure. It worked. MREs have gotten better? Hard to believe that anybody could improve a bag of cow dung. We called them Meals Rejected by Everybody. The only thing that made them tolerable was the little hot sauce bottles. When I got home I ate at Taco Bell because I loved it after a late night drinking and all the memories such and I got so sick I was in the can for a week. Good luck! and keep low, very low!!!!!!
P.S. "War is glorified by those who have not fought in it"
