With Baron Davis signing with the Clips, Don Nelson could use another guard to go with his high scoring team.  Harrington always seems to be in and out of Nellie's good graces so I'm sure Nellie would consider moving Harrington.  I know Harrington is not the all-star low post player the Bulls want but Hinrich and Gordon are not exactly all-stars either, looks like an even trade to me.  I think the Bulls should go after Nene or Camby for the Nuggets, but adding a big body with some skills, like Harrington, and getting rid of a guard, in a way too crowded backcourt is not a bad deal.

Natelville,

I like the Hinrich for Harrington trade, IF they can't get the Camby, Kleiza trade.

The contracts are tradeable, GS now needs another PG (although Hinrich is no Baron Davis) and your right on about Harrington falling on Don Nelson''s bad side.

And saving 2 years of Hinrich's contract is also a bonus, but for that reason, I think GS would shy away from it. But you never know.

Good post.

I saw a guy from ESPN make that trade suggestion the other day, I thought it made a lot of sense, Harrington is solid. I would give Kirk to them to make the deal. They need a PG, we can always use more muscle down low, Harrington may be stronger than who we have now for certain.

This is a good idea, however, Golden State I believe would only do a deal like this if 6'8  PF Elton Brand agreed to the maximum contract offer he has gotten from Golden State.  Brand would fill the PF position, leaving Al Harrington as the odd man out.  GS's backups are 19year olds Brandan Wright and Anthony Randolph, both about 6'10, 6'11 and skinny as can be.  Neither are ready to contribute right now especially Randolph who is only 196 lbs.   I can see the Warriors wanting Captain Kirk as their point guard, he would add defense to their team and give them decent minutes.  The problem with acquiring 6'9 250lb PF Al Harrington is for one we chose 6'9 C Ben Wallace over him when both were free-agents a few years back.  Secondly, I don't think Paxson would make this trade with Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden at the 4 and Deng and Nocioni at the 3. However, Nocioni is said to be on the trading block because of his large contract and the fact that Deng will be getting 55-60 million.  Harrington, like Nocioni averages per 48 minutes about 25 points and 9 rebounds, and both like to shoot the 3 pointer, so unless Nocioni is traded, I just don't see Paxson making the trade.  Here are the comparisons:  Tyrus Thomas 24.46 14.69, Luol Deng 23.84 17.07  Al Harrington 24.88 15.71,  Drew Gooden 22.96 13.84 (but mostly with Cleveland) , and Andres Nocioni 21.51  13.71,  Those numbers are Efficiency/48 and Player Efficiency Rating. It would take away minutes from Gooden and Ty Thomas and I don't see Paxson wanting that problem.  So they go from a congested backcourt to a crowded front-court.  It's not a bad trade idea, it's really good but I don't see it happening. New Jersey is said to after SF Andres Nocioni, and have said that C Nenad Kristic, who is constantly injured is on the trading block ,but his salary is only like 2.7 million.  Throw in Stromile Swifts, 6.2 million or so expiring contract and Chicago might make this deal for cap relief, money for Deng/Gordon.

Harrington may be a good fit. He also plays the 3 a little. and he's can score. He's not very efficient though. and has never shot a high percentage as a big.

Hinrich really should be traded. I actually think he and Rose would work well together. He unselfish and can shoot (last year was a down year ) he plays tough defense(much better than Gordon)

I hope Paxson finds some way to get rid of Hughes....I mean I'd rather have Crawford back.

Al Harrington is a nice player, but Bulls already have similar player on their roster, Tyrus Thomas, and if they want him to develop, the shouldn't take away minutes from him by taking Harrington.
In this free agency period, I'd only take a legitimate (6'11" - 7'0") PF/C who has good post presence, other then that, I think Bulls are well covered at any other position.
