Let's say Tarvaris Jackson doesn't get us to the playoffs again, and doesn't play particularly well this coming season and we decide we're going to move in a new direction with a new QB...(These are only projected first rounders, but A LOT can change between now and April of 2009). Enjoy, and vote!
*Have option to leave college or not...
*Tim Tebow - 6'3" 225 - The legend, Tim Tebow. Good size, good mobility, great arm strength. You could argue about his accuracy due to the variety of his passes , but he completed almost 70% his sophomore year, which isn't done very often. However, he has a slow release, which is luckily something you can change. Another benefit for him is that he is playing against the best college defenses in the SEC, which is why it doesn't make sense to me when people say he won't be able to run the ball at the next level. He is playing in the fastest confrence in college! (From Florida)
*Sam Bradford - 6'4" 210 - Yes yes, I know, he was a freshman this year. But he was redshirted, so he CAN enter the draft next year. He put up excellent numbers last year, hopefully he can produce the same without Iglesias and Malcolm Kelly. If he does, there's no doubt in my mind he will be a first rounder. Decent mobility and a proven winner. (From Oklahoma)
*Matthew Stafford - 6'3" 235 - Another early entry with experience against the best confrence in college. georgia only lost two games in his sophomore year, so I believe he can win as well. Good size. One con is that defenses had to respect the run against Georgia with Knowshon Moreno, allowing him to pass more easily. But I guess that will be his situation if he ends up with the Vikings.(From Georgia)
Curtis Painter - 6'4" 225 - Showed that he can play in his sophomore year, throwing for more yards than he ended up throwing in his Junior year. He had an excellent TD to INT ration his Junior year, and completed almost 65% of his passes. Good size and comptent mobility and broke Bears QB Kyle Orton's passing yardage record at Purdue.
We could also go after a free agent, which i might prefer depending on who's available so we can make a serious SB run.
