Is anyone else as completely sick of listening to this guy day in and day out?  I really think he could be the worst announcer I have never listened to because he adds absolutely no insight into the game beyond what an average baseball fan could easily point out.  I'm to the point where I look forward to the Mets being on ESPN so I don't have to listen to Hernandez.

I've actually become so frustrated with him that I've notice that ALL of his comments fall into three categories; 1) what every Met player or coach is doing is wrong, 2) how things were "back in '86" or when he used to play for the Cardinals, and 3) how a pitcher's wind-up or a batter's swing has "no wasted motion."

I really can't stand listening to him anymore!  What happened to Ron Darling?

as if one keith hernandez post wasn't enough - feel free to see responses on "input needed" as well - a post started today.

And I disagree - i think the trio of darling, hernandez and cohen is fantastic.

NYFAN I could not agree with you more and if anyone doubts this have them listen to an away game when the local teams guys call the game and they will appreciate our guys a lot more

I'm not exactly sure what you're sick of listening to. Is it his keen insights on defensive alignments? Is it his insightful analysis of batting stances and swings? Is it how he incorporates what is happening on the field to the way some of the greats used to do things so we can get a real sense of the great history of the game?

You're perfectly entitled to hate KH, obviously I disagree. My suggestion to you would be to mute your tv and turn on the radio....unless you hate Howie Rose too!

Probably the worst statement I ever heard. They are probably the best  trio of

announcers in baseball. Who would rather listen too, Sterling and Waldman.

"Keen insight" and "insightful analysis"??  Is that a joke?  The guy couldn't provide insightful analysis if his life depended on it.  All he does is guess what the next pitch is going to be or what the manager is going to do and when he happens to guess right, which doesn't happen very often, he gets this tone in his voice that suggests a sense of entitlement.  He would rather talk about himself than what's happening on the field...and often does!

I guess you guys really enjoy listening to suck on a lollipop!!

I have the MLB Extra Innings package, and just about all the color commentators who are former players are better than him.  As I said before, his "insight" consists of observations that are obvious to a little league team.  Orel Hershiser is probably the best former player ammuncer out there.

And I have tried to listen to the radio while watching TV but unfortunately the TV is about 5 seconds behind the radio so it's doesn't work.
