Below Article Appeared on HawgsIllustrated about the nations #2 cornerback Gabe Lynn from Jenks, OK.  Just imagine if we land both Lynn and Winston.

Before practice for his senior season gets underway, Jenks (Okla.) cornerback and University of Arkansas recruiting target Gabe Lynn is going to make a small group of teams very happy.

That will happen when Lynn (6-1, 180, 4.5), Scout.com’s No. 2 cornerback in the country and No. 28 player overall in 2009 class, cuts a list of over 30 offers down to five – or maybe as few as three.

He’ll do so after completing a tour of schools that has already seen him unofficially visit Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and North Carolina, might include a trip to Texas and will definitely finish up with a trek to LSU on July 21.

“I still consider myself very wide open and so if anybody else comes along I will consider them,” Lynn said. “But after I get back from visiting LSU there in July, I am going to cut it down to five or even just a top three.”

Arkansas certainly has a great shot to be one of those according to Lynn, who visited the Razorbacks on June 9th while one of their camps was going on.

“My visit to Arkansas went great, one of the best - if not the best one - I have taken,” Lynn said. “I got to really get to know the coaches and look over the facilities and meet some of the current players. Their facilities are great, some of the best I have ever seen.”

Lynn had made the 90-minute trip to Fayetteville earlier, but that had been for an indoor track meet and he didn’t really get a chance to look around.

He got a chance to spend time with new Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino, defensive backs coach Lorenzo Ward and quarterbacks coach Garrick McGee, an old family friend who is from Tulsa.

“Both Coach Petrino and Coach Ward, who would be my position coach, have coached in the NFL and college and coached a lot of players who are playing in the NFL right now,” Lynn said. “They know exactly what it takes to get to the NFL and want it takes to excel once you get to the league. I am really excited about the possibility of working with him.

“Coach McGee is a guy that my family has known a long time and is really someone we think a lot of,” McGee said. “He is really handling my recruiting. He’s a great guy.”

Arkansas is known to be recruiting several top cornerbacks, including Lynn, fellow Tulsa product David Gordon and West Helena Central’s Darius Winston to name a few.

Winston, Scout’s No. 3 cornerback nationally, committed to Arkansas the day after the 2008 national signing date before recently re-opening his recruitment.

He did so noting that he initially pledged so early to please his uncle – a huge Razorback fan.

“Darius and I have talked to each other and done a lot of texting,” Lynn said. “I think he still may end up at Arkansas, but he had a good reason to back off. He just wants to make sure he is doing what is right for him.”

Lynn visited North Carolina last weekend where assistant coach John Blake is another family friend.

“That was one of my best visits, too,” Lynn said. “I got a chance to spend three days down there and really look things over. I was impressed and they are one of my top schools.”

Lynn, whose brother Phillip Dillard plays at Nebraska, and his team will be trying to win a second straight state title.

He is coming off a junior season in which he had 52 tackles and picked off five passes and returned four kickoffs for touchdowns.

Great article.  Lynn will do great things if he decides to come to the hill and it's close to home.  This is a good start for this coaching staff.

WInston and Lynn could come in immediately and be impact players and would certainly beef up what many conceive to be a weak secondary! Hopefully we will be getting some good news from these young men sooner rather than later.

Peace out!

I remember reading a while back (before Winston de-committed) that these two guys are good friends and were thinking about going to the same school.  We thought we had Winston and he was trying to talk Lynn into joining him.  I hope that still ends up being the case.  These two guys would be awesome playing on opposite sides of Frank Broyles Field.
