What are your thoughts on signing Bonds?  I'm not a big fan of the idea myself but with DL gods reeking havoc on our lineup, it might not be such a bad idea...especially if he's willing to play for the league minimum.  It couldn't be any worse than when we gave Mondesi 1M to see what he had left (nothing).
I personally would LOVE to see them trade for Jason Bay or Nate McLouth. Any thoughts as to what the Pirates would want in return?  Although I doubt they would trade Nate but I have heard some rumors regarding Bay.

Like I said, I don't either...hopefully they can get Bay or somebody similar and another starter.

I'd rather have Deon Sanders.  And that is saying something.

I'm not sure I want Bay.  Sure he would be great but the Pirates are going to want a boatload for him.  I'd rather go after Xavier Nady.  He can play the outfield and also give us some insurance at first base should we not resign Teixeira.

I read that last night, and I'm all for it.  Bonds isn't a clubhouse cancer.  He's not that bad of a teammate, from what I understand.  He's not real personable, but plenty of guys aren't like that.

But it won't happen, if for no other reason than Frank Wren doesn't have the tenure to open himself up to something like this that could come back and haunt him in the media.  It will only help the ballclub, both on the field and on the budget sheet, but the media will hate it.  Well, Terrance Moore will like it, so he'd have one person on his side.

Put Bonds in the 2 hole (don't say anything about "clogging the bases") and have an automatic man on for Chipper in pretty much every situation.  That'd be pretty awesome.

Just when I thought you couldn't be any more out of your mind...

Barry Bonds? Really? The guy is a horrible clubhouse guy that I don't want around my team. Say the press wants to talk to him all the time (which they will) and say that he says screw you guys, and turns them all away (which he will). Then they go to the younger players and ask them what they think about Bonds, and that's how fights and clubhouse division starts.

Plus, he is no good. He is 43 or 44, slower than McCann (and that's saying something), can't run the bases, can't play the field, not much power left, won't hit much above .200, and he might be going to jail for felonies.

And where is he going to play? Left? Blanco, Jones, and Diaz have that taken care of.

Oh, but he sounds like a GREAT fit for the Braves though.

There is a reason why he isn't on a team...HE'S NO GOOD!!!

Besides, how could we have that 'roid taking SOB who passes a guy named Aaron on the career HR list play on the SAME TEAM as Aaron?!?!

I thought Barry's only chance of playing was DH'ing in the AL.

I would really quit watching the Braves in they brought him in. Seriously-- stone cold walk away. I honestly can not name one good reason to bring him in. Chesshead covered all the reasons for me on him.

He'll never be signed because of the pending legal action in his indictment.

It would really
