Would a Mclouth for Volquez trade be fair or am I giving up too much for Volquez? I would lose my utility in the trade. I do have Pence, Bruce and Tulo. Not much to get excited about.  I have Johan, Harang, Weaver, Jurrjens, Laffey, Masterson, King Felix, Soria, and Doug Davis. My pitching has been erratic all year. Johan and Felix are my two most consistent. Davis and Masterson are pickups just for their  two starts next week. Should I offer this trade, or ask for a little more? Points wise, Volquez has outscored McLouth by .7 points. That's correct. You just read point 7. Any thoughts would be appreciated. H2h points league.

I'd go ahead and offer that trade.  I think McLouth has been hitting about .230 or .240 over the past month while Volquez has remained consistent all year.  I'm saying McLouth is going to hit .230 or .240 the rest of the year, but I do believe that you will be able to get similar production from Pence, therefore, you might as well upgrade your SP.

Looks like a good deal.  Hitting for pitching.  Not losing too much for a good pitcher.

I see about the same drop off for each player, myself I would hold onto McClouth

I've got Braun, Ellsbury, and Sizemore. I still want to keep McLouth, because my lineup is starting to come around. McLouth seems to have dropped off a bit recently. I'm  in need  of more consistent pitching though.  Do you think I should just rely on my hitting to overcome my erratic pitching? I also have Tex, Escobar, Soto, B. Roberts, & Longoria. What do you think?

The question is does McLouth over Longoria add more to your team than adding Volquez over your pitcher he'd take the place of?  Because you have so much fire power on offense, I'd say do the trade,  I see McLouth taking a bigger nose-dive than Volquez down the stretch.

I would take Volquez.  Solid outfielders are a dime a dozen.  Mclouth should pick it up a little but obviously the red hot start numbers couldn't  keep up.  The danger is rookie pitchers almost always hit a wall in the second half.
