At first sight, Big B seems to have the better team. But after thinking about it, it truly could go either way.
First of all, let me say I don't like Iverson playing the point. Never have liked it, and I never will. I like him much much better playing the two. However, having a guy like Havlicek I can sort of understand that Iverson had to play the point. Still, I think the better move was to trade either Mutombo or Unseld and get a point guard.
I love the Iceman-Havlicek matchup. Despite Havlicek's defense being pretty strong, I think Gervin will get his points in a straight up defense. However, will Gervin be able to score enough to win the game alone? Who knows...
Iverson won't be seeing too many points with all the defense-first point guards The Big B can throw at him. However, that means Havlicek could have a big game as well as Gervin.
Hakeem vs. Russell will be a wash. Hakeem has better offense, but Russell's defensive presence alongside Mutombo will be hard to score on. Lucas won't be getting many rebounds in this game with Russell and Mutombo standing there either. I think Hakeem is too good not to score at all though, and I still see him putting up 15+.
I like B's Bench better. Solid defensive guards, big man offense with Pau, good forward in Brand, etc.
Hooch's bench is not bad. However, I don't think it is as good as B's Bench. I do like Unseld getting some minutes, though.
Ok, that's too much talk. I have to vote for someone, and I think the winner will squeak out the victory to be honest.
Big B's Bad Boys 104
Hooch's Hustlers 100
Low scoring game, with Gervin coming up big with 28 points, 7 boards, 3 assists.
Defensive player of the game has to be Mutombo, going for 4 blocks on Lucas.
VOTE: Big B's Bad Boys
