Since the Dodgers are playing awful baseball right now, and theres not much to discuss about that. If you were Ned Colletti, what would do you? And no you cant say trade Juan Pierre for a bag of peanuts, AND you cant fire yourself. Who can come up with some ideas that would accually be reasonable and would make sense for both teams? You can be a buyer or a seller, it doesnt matter.
Look, while I agree that the Dodgers are in desperate need of a power bat in the lineup, where are you going to put him? The Dodgers have a logjam in the outfield and at third base as is.
Thus, because of our current situation, I believe we should trade for C/3B/CF Brandon Inge from the Detroit Tigers and maybe even give former Dodgers pitcher Jeff Weaver who was recently cut by the Brewers a shot since Brad Penny is clearly not comfortable on the mound and our starting pitching is horrendous.
Furthermore, I wouldn't mind seeing Adrian Beltre from the Mariners back at the 3B position. Although I wouldn't want to give up too much young talent. Therefore, James Loney, Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw are pretty much untouchable and I would be willing to give up Blake DeWitt & Hong Chi Kuo and some prospects or even LF Juan Pierre if the Mariners were willing to take his big contract.
I'd make a heavy push for Jason Bay or Matt Holliday. Bay is more likely since Holliday is already within the Division. I'd move Matt Kemp. He strikes out too much. I'd also look into getting another pitching coach. Guys like Penny shouldn't be pitching the way they are. Finally, what kind of trainer is Stan Conte? Everyone seems to be getting hurt all of the time.
