-Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with Guy Fawkes Day (if not the spelling of his name, lol ), being a Canadian & all... He was a leader of a group of Catholics in Britain that were p'oed that a more direct descendant Catholic was not on the throne after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and tried to blow up parliament as a result of their grievance- while not exactly an "independence day" for Briatain as such, it does celebrate the victory of the good ol' protestants over them there evil catholics, lol...

Yes, Guy Fawkes did all that, and their celebration, in England, is like the 4th of July here in the US.

Guy Fawkes Day their is a guy I work with who married a woman from England and they celebrate that day every year .It's around Oct. or Nov. They have a big fire and throw a dummie onthe fire to celebrate the burning of parliament . He said it's just a big party over their that day

-Yep, you're both kinda right. It's celebrated with fireworks, bonfires, etc., in early Nov. kinda the like the 4th, but the British were last "conquered" in 1066, and never did regain their "independence", lol...

-I'm actually a guitarist by trade, Snot, but I can play fairly decent bass in a pinch- I'm told I've a very good sense of beat and timing...
