TRADE ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

I need advice on making a decision with 2 trade offers given to me....Should i take one over the other or not take any at all. I am in good shape all around on my team but thinking I could beef it up a little with one of these trades.

THE FIRST PLAYERS LISTED ARE MINE...

1. Miggy Cabrea  for Rickie Weeks and G. Atkins

2. M. Cabrea John Maine and Ryan Church for J. Francis G. Atkins and Vlad Guerro.

We start Utility players. I am worried about Vlad and is he healthy enough and will he get on track. I like weeks but hate his batting average which is at .200. Thanks for any advice or help you guys can give.

I'm going to guess this is a roto league.  I like the first trade, but not the second one.

In the first trade you get Weeks who is a stud in all categories except batting average and Atkins who can help you in everything but steals and has Hawpe and holliday coming back to the lineup in the next week.  Losing Miguel Cabrera hurts, but the drop down to Atkins isn't a huge one.

In the second trade you downgrade your 3B and SP spots and add a better OF, but by how much is uncertain with Vlad's health issues lately.  I still like the addition of Atkins, but Francis has been hit or miss all year and there's been a few more misses than hits. 

If you need help in Steals and Runs and can take the hit to batting average I say do the first trade.  There's really not a circumstance that would make me do the second one.

Since Maine is your 6th best pitcher and you don't use him, I am assuming that Francis would also play the same role.  With that said, the trade really becomes Miguel Cabrera and Ryan Church for Garrett Atkins and Vlad.  I would do that trade in a second. 

I know this might cause a stir, but Cabrera is on the down side of his career, which is tough to say about a kid as young as him.  He has been getting fatter and slower every year.  He's so slow that the Tigers had to move him to 1B.  Plus, he was always playing under no pressure or expectations in Florida.  In Detroit, there are huge expectations and he is not living up to them.  Church could have lingering concussion issues.  Head injuries can be scary and he has had two concussions already this year (one in pres-season too).  Vlad will come around once he's healthy and Figgins returns from injury.

Pull the trigger on this one!

What you should expect over a full season from Atkins is:

25-30 HR, .300-.310 AVG, 95-100 Runs, 105-115 RBIs, 3-7 SB

Miggy has blown those numbers out of the water during his time in Florida but does appear to be having some real troubles in Detroit.

With the second trade, I like the idea of selling Church and am beginning to like the idea of selling Cabrera.  I think Maine is a much better pitcher than Francis.  And Vlad is not the stud he used to be.  He has knee and back issues and is getting rather slow himself.

Minus the pitchers, this trade easily favors you with Vlad in a big way over Church and Cabrera slightly (this year anyway) over Atkins. 

But, the pitchers are there and I don't like Francis at all.  Coming from your bench, it might still make sense but I would still be hesitant.
