I realize that in todays sports world there always has to be some one to be the next SOMEONE, but come on people.
You can not compare Kobe to his "AIRNES" any more than you can compare Charles Barkley to Stu Ungar... Yes they
both played the same sport , Yes they both scored at will. Only one however could LEAD his team. Only one of them
WILLED those around him to WIN. MJ never talked contracts. He signed and played for the one he agreed to when he
was drafted. MJ never demanded any thing of the Bulls , he simply took what they gave him and WON SIX CHAMPIONSHIPS.
You can look at the stats of the two of them and if you took the time , you would be shocked at just how much better
MJ was than Kobe is. Michael Jordan is hands down the greatest basketball player EVER. He could do it all , every game.
He played defense EVERY GAME , he made those around him better EVERY GAME. He took more of a beating than any
player , much less a guard, in the history of the NBA and kept coming back for more. Kobe is a great scorer and plays a
little D, but he can not lead. That is why they got Shaq. He can not teach, that is why they have "Fish" and he can not
motivate , that is why they got Phil.
Jordan made Scottie a better player because he made him want to be LIKE MIKE. He knew who to pat on the back
and who to kick in the pants. Yes they both had Phil Jackson as the coach but only one of them taught his coach.
I believe that there are players who transcend time in their sports and then there are those who can not. Michael Jordan
would be Michael Jordan in any era of the NBA. Kobe could not have even gotten off the bench for "RED" in the 60' or the
Knicks in the 70's or stood in the shadow of Dr J. Larry "legend" would have turned and smirked and even "Majic" would
have had to struggle with him.
Kobe is the "Pistol" Pete of his generation. (Who I believe is one of the most talented ballers of all time). Talent galore
, maybe more than most, but never going to be in the list of Greatest because he can not , will not and has not , proven
it is who you are on the inside but you you do that defines you.
