I realize that in todays sports world there always has to be some one to be the next SOMEONE, but come on people.

You can not compare Kobe to his "AIRNES" any more than you can compare Charles Barkley to Stu Ungar... Yes they

both played the same sport , Yes they both scored at will. Only one however could LEAD his team. Only one of them

WILLED those around him to WIN. MJ never talked contracts. He signed and played for the one he agreed to when he

was drafted. MJ never demanded any thing of the Bulls , he simply took what they gave him and WON SIX CHAMPIONSHIPS.

You can look at the stats of the two of them and if you took the time , you would be shocked at just how much better

MJ was than Kobe is. Michael Jordan is hands down the greatest basketball player EVER. He could do it all , every game.

He played defense EVERY GAME , he made those around him better EVERY GAME. He took more of a beating than any

player , much less a guard, in the history of the NBA and kept coming back for more. Kobe is a great scorer and plays a

little D, but he can not lead. That is why they got Shaq. He can not teach, that is why they have "Fish" and he can not

motivate , that is why they got Phil.

Jordan made Scottie a better player because he made him want to be LIKE MIKE. He knew who to pat on the back

and who to kick in the pants. Yes they both had Phil Jackson as the coach but only one of them taught his coach.

I believe that there are players who transcend time in their sports and then there are those who can not. Michael Jordan

would be Michael Jordan in any era of the NBA. Kobe could not have even gotten off the bench for "RED" in the 60' or the

Knicks in the 70's or stood in the shadow of Dr J. Larry "legend" would have turned and smirked and even "Majic" would

have had to struggle with him.

Kobe is the "Pistol" Pete of his generation. (Who I believe is one of the most talented ballers of all time). Talent galore

, maybe more than most, but never going to be in the list of Greatest because he can not , will not and has not , proven

it is who you are on the inside but you you do that defines you.

Your exactly right, MJ made his teammates better, something Kobe could never do and never will do, he belittles his teammates.  He's all peachy when they are winning but if they start losing, then its all about him.  MJ's stats blow away Kobe's, MJ's defense was better than Kobe's, and MJ could score at will, just as most claim Kobe can, except when MJ scored 30+, he didn't have to take 50 shots to get it like Kobe does, and he still had 5+ assists, while Kobe may get one or two a night.  The comparisons need to stop, its not even close between these two.

Just to clear it up for the young ones with the fowl mouth. I am not a Kobe hater. If you could read , it did praise him as a great player. I just want to keep him on the level he deserves. The Lakers will not beat the Celtics big three , because the Celts have 12 guys not just one. The All-Defensive team is not the same as the Defensive Player of the Year is and MJ got that a few times playing the other teams best scorer. Maybe if you had been old enough to have watched him you could have been better informed.

All these hardcore Kobe fans keep talking about how even if Bryant isn't at the same level yet he will be by the end of his career.  As far as I'm concerned it's too late for that.  For 10 years he's been selfish, greedy, and closer to a little punk with skills than he has been to a truly great player.  Even if Kobe totally changes his personality and over the next five years dominates the way Jordan did, shoots over 50% the way Jordan did, lose his knees but adapt his game amazingly to still be the best offensive player in the league like Jordan did, actually help his teammates like Jordan did, play not just good defense but GREAT defense like Jordan did, win every championship every year in his prime like Jordan did, I would still say that at the height of his career he was as good as Jordan at his height, and yet is still not at the same level for a career.  10 years of whining, being negative, and quite simply not being on the same level as Jordan have made it impossible, at least for me, to place them in the same category regardless of what Kobe does from here on out.

I never realized that the Administrator got the job done so quickly. It is a plus that we can voice ourselves and know that our boards wont take abusive posts for the sake of abuse.
