For all of us A-Rod owners, it sure is nice having him back.  He was not putting up typical numbers early in the season and then he missed four fantasy weeks.  He has now been back for 13 games and his stats are: .326 - 9Runs - 4HR - 12RBI - 5SB - and .431OBP.  Project that over 162 games and you get 112-50-150-62 so it looks like the old A-Rod is back.

This leads me to the question, if you had the # 1 pick (offense only) in a typical roto league today, who would you're # 1 pick be?

The fact is still that Chase Utley is still a one man show at the 2nd base position and this year has performed that much better than the next best player. I would argue that over the course of the rest of the season you'll see that A-Rod, David Wright, Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez will show similar statistics and I would be surprised to see Miguel Cabrera not pick up his production over the second half of the season.

In regard to Josh Hamilton I see two issues: 1. He is unproven and therefore may hit a serious wall in the second half of the season. People try to avoid using their first/second round draft picks on UNPROVEN stars, however Hamilton is making a case for first round draft picks for the next decade. 2. OF is a position that has similar stats from other players (Lance Berkman is a perfect example)

Utley - Absolute stud at a paper thin position.
