I am trying to help my team get a little better on the offensive end. My average and OPS has been low except for last week, and some of my other offensive statistics have been average. 1 guy in my league loves to make trades, and has tried to get Teixeira, and his SP is dealing with a lot of injuries, and I have depth at that position. How fair of a trade offer is this for both of us for me to make?
I give him: M. Teixeira, J. Pierre, R. Weeks, B. Webb, B. Penny
He gives me: A. Gordon, J. Hamilton, J. Ellsbury, S. Marcum
It seems somewhat fair to me because he would get Tex and the best SP in the game, plus another to help him since injuries are piling up. Any comments would be appreciated.

I'm sorry but I don't think this is a good trade for you. You give up way too much for what you get in return, but I'm not sure what your entire lineup looks like. I would just be careful.

This one is close. It's a fair deal and if it helps both teams you should do it. If I had to choose, I would take the group you're giving up. Looking at the top 2 guys on each side, I slightly favor Webb and Tex over Hamilton and Marcum. I like all of those guys a lot this year...Hamilton has been awesome and Marcum is really emerging. But Webb's dominance gives the other side the slight edge. Not sure if you're starting/plan to start the other guys invoved. Can you afford to lose Webb? Are you really gaining enough in those cats to even make this deal?

I haven't made the offer yet, I am just trying to get some input before I make an offer. It is a 6x6 keeper league. The only 2 guys that I would keep for next year would be Teix and Webb from the ones that I am giving up and Hamilton and Marcum for the ones that I would be getting. Maybe when I look at it that way, the trade seems worse, but Hamilton and Ellsbury are upgrades over Pierre and Weeks for my Util positions, and Gordon is a downgrade from Teix at 1B, but their stats are similar, and they are both young. Marcum is a good young pitcher even though he isn't as good as Webb obviously, but his ERA and WHIP are better, and he has struck out one more guy, although with 4 fewer wins on the year. I am willing to give up my ace pitcher if I get Marcum in return, to go with some other young pitchers on my team already. I would love to give up less than this, but am not sure if I should just ride out my team and see what happens, or make a move, and if so, how much to give up to make the trade offer fair.

The SP that are currently on my roster are: B. Webb, B. Penny, J. Shields, J. Litsch, Z. Greinke, E. Santana, M. Owings, and M. Scherzer(SP eligibilty, and could be a SP again) The hardest part is how much to offer. Webb alone may make it possible to take Gordon and Teixeira out of the trade and make it Pierre, Weeks, Webb, and Penny for Hamilton, Ellsbury, and Marcum. I don't know. I want Ellsbury becuase he will get me Pierre's steals, plus some other offensive statistics. Would that trade be a fair one to offer?

I don't think I would give up Webb. You have good SP without him, but you don't have a real ace without him. You really need that one guy that pretty much gives you a good outing every time.
I love Marcum, but not in place of Webb.
I was recently offered Pence and Dice-K for Hamilton and Marcum and just about fell out of my chair laughing at that guy. Like I was going to give away my team.
You should find another way to improve your offense. Plus Tex is a second half player so you will improve your offense soon by doing nothing.
