Odell Thurman was released. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/05/19/curnutte-confirms-that-odell-is-out/

i like our young LB's... but why not add this guy? i thought the word was his past troubles were totally behind him.

I wouldn't think that the Bengals would have released him if he "put his troubles behind him".  Unless they think he needs a new change of scenery.  I would give him a shot if it was a low ball incentive driven contract.  He was pretty hyped up coming out of college.  I'm sure he'll end up elsewhere.

yeah i'm sure he'll end up elsewhere as well! not with us. Some team has got to pick him up, he had a fantastic rookie year!

if the story is true then they dumped him for missing a optional practice/workout.. (OTA). because a family member died. I honestly heard this guy was over this past and was totally focused on football. Maybe your right, maybe there is more to the story. My guess is he'll be scooped up REAL quick... don't care he's been out for 2 years. he's still in his mid 20s and had a 90+ tackle/1.5 sack/5 INT (one returned for TD)/4 forced fumble .... rookie year. He was hyped coming in, and rookie year he more then delivered... we'll see when he's picked up if the two years off hurt him. I'm still shocked Cinn cut him... i mean with there LB's now!?!?!?

Smells like Cincy is serious about cleaning house -- getting rid of any and all "problem children."

I respect that they cut Chris Henry, but there HAS to be more to this Odell Thurman story than was just posted.  You don't cut a young linebacker with promise who is putting his past behind him unless you are left without a choice.  Maybe we'll find out more later.  If they are THAT serious about cleaning house then I guess Chad Johnson will be traded after June 1st no??

yup! and i applaud them for it! i want to hear more on why he was cut though. I like how they've dealt with Chad and cutting Henry! this one... not sure yet. They may have jumped the gun a bit. We'll see.

i think Chad's a little different. he's not in trouble with the law. he's just being a TO like bee-otch in the off season. Peter King from SI and NFL Radio swears up and down he'll be traded yet... i'm still unsure. I hope they sit him all year like Marvin has said.

I'd like to see the Bengals call his bluff also.  Let him sit and see how long he lasts.  I bet he wouldn't make it to week 4.  Then the back peddling will begin...

yup... and let me clarify something. i don't like Chad, if Cinn at some point makes it's made clear he WILL be traded then i'd only want him to basically block the Cowboys from getting him. I don't really want him on the Eagles, but I'd hate it if he went to the Boys!

As for Odell, if he is up for an incentive laden deal... Yeah I'd love to have him on our team! Depth behind Bradley, use him on special teams... Maybe push S. Bradley for playing time. See if he can slide outside and he could REALLY push Gocong for playing time. I know, not happening... Just speculating.

Bengals fans seem to think there is more to the story... more info will be released on another upcoming suspension. if so.... what an idiot he is... Again.
