In 1998 Cal Ripken, Jr. ended his consecutive game streak. He started at 3B for the Orioles in 161 games. Who started at 3B the only other game that year, played the game in it's entirety, and thus ending Ripken's streak?

It was Minor. I was at that game, actually.  I remember they didn't even announce the lineups that night.  They just posted them on the scoreboard about ten minutes prior to game time and let the crowd figure it out on it's own.  I think I was the first person in my section who actually noticed.  There may be some selective memory in there but I think that's pretty much how it happened.

Man.  Remember when Ryan Minor was the next Mike Schmidt?  What were we thinking?
