Who do you think the Buffs biggest suprise will be this year?  Personally I think two suprises will happen.

1.   You will see a big upset early in the season.  Im thinking at WVU.

2.  I Believe you will see a hugely improved Cody Hawkins.  I trully believe he will lead us to compete for the Big 12 North title.

1. Pat Williams becomes #1 target in passing game, and finally fills into that body and skill set and learns to take over.

2. Running game struggles early with the new offense, but is in high form by mid-season

3. Max Tuioti-Mariner (incoming freshman) takes over at guard position by mid season a-la Kai Maiva, and earns 1st team freshman all American lineman.

I agree that hawkins will be much better this season but a murderers row schedule will provide to that testament early on. We are still a year away from competing heavily. Onece this class gets a year and Missouri and Kansas lose some key players and come back down to Earth we should be right there. Biggest Surprise this year.

Simas and Smith at WR dominating more then people think

The Sooners were far the best team, if Colorado can't score 30 points, The Buffs don't have a shot at this National Champ contender, but I think it will be close early.

I can see something like a win vs wv also. not a given, but not also out of the realm of possibility.

Cody Hawkins did look a lot better at the spring game then he did last year. He was making vast improvements towards the end of the season and was begining to look more comfortable behind center. He isn't and never will be an outstanding QB due to lack of size and speed. With Ballenger on his heels he better step it up. Big 12 north title may be a stretch this year with as much fresh meat we have coming in to a tough schedule, but stranger things have happened and I am a glass half full kind of guy so what the hell let's do it.

Patrick Williams has amazing talent in there somewhere but after watching him over the last few years I think it might be to little to late. Simas will be the go to guy. He is a manchild and will bring down anything thrown his way. Break him short and send Josh long combined with D Scott in the backfield and you have the recipe for an explosive offense.

Max T-M could come in and do well but it all has to do with the recovery from the season ending injury last year. These type of injuries can kill a young kids career. I hope the best for him and if he does heal quickly then I see him getting in the mix early and doing big things like you said.

Biggest surprise is Scott injures himself for the season on the first play of the season. Then CU still manages an 8-4 season with a trip to the cotton bowl.
