Yes, Bettman is going to fix the game, right. Get your tinfoil hat back on, I think the Illuminati is trying to control your mind. If there was such a conspiracy, why the no goal call in game two that could have very easily been called a goal. Or the fact that the penalties in the series have been practically even, even though the Pens have definitely been keeping more offensive pressure with the exception of tonight's game. Flyer's played a good game, but calling Crosby soft for the thing at the end with Richards? Please, they hacked each other a few times and that was it, it's not like Richards dropped the gloves and Crosby backed away. And if you're going to talk about 'whining' to the refs (what every captain and alternate captain does, btw), Richards does it as much as Crosby.

Definitely a good call to sit Downie, he probably would have scored the tying goal for the Pens.

Hey Steel Curtain...you're a GREAT fan and a GREAT example of why I mock the Pens fans! Hahahahaha...you;re not a bandwagon fan, you're a TRUE fan! (*See his 1st post on this thread...)

His name is Staal, not "Stahl". Nice effort though.

All I have to say is good luck in Game 5...if you lose, you'll get 1 more shot in Game 7. Looks like we got our goalie back tonight...

"You mean like your fan base that ranks in the bottom half of the league."

I'd like to see where that stat came from. The Penguins sold out every single home game this year. Every single one. I'm still not sure how that puts the fan base in the bottom half of the league.

KEY WORDS:  "This year".

I was in Pittsburgh in spring of '04 - before the lockout.  Saw 3 games for a total of $30.  One of those tix was in the 2nd row also, gotta love scalpers.   I don't know much about the Philly/Pitts rivalry, but I don't ever think Philly's team was about to move on several occasions because of shameful attendance.  Even when they were 30 out of 30 last year.  Were they?

Just was in Pitt last week too...  seeing all theese kids with their light blue Pens gear is pretty comical.  How many of them saw a game when they sucked in 2003-04 and were days away from moving to KC?  I'll guess 1% or so...   Most Pens supporters are the  definition of "fair-weather" fans.

The Pens had one crappy year of attendance after 4 years of cellar dwelling, that's not exactly a qualifying factor for a team moving. The Pens were in danger of that even with good attendance because of playing in an outdated arena, which was also the cause of teams in Winnipeg, Quebec and Minneapolis moving away, mostly to places with non-traditional markets with only one developing a really strong fan base, Colorado. Unfortunately, teams don't tend to survive without stadiums having luxury boxes and the corporate money that goes along with it. If it were just attendance that was a problem, then Phoenix would move back to Winnipeg (or Hamilton), Florida would pack up along with Chicago, etc.

Great game by the Flyers tonight.  They were all over them from the dtart.  They were a completely different team then they were the first 3 games.  I just wish they played this way from the start.  Hopefully they can pull of the unthinkable and win the next three.  I just hope it isnt to little to late.  Either way they have had a great season.

yeah Jlaw - the Stadium is pretty important, but i think winning is more so.  Part of the reason Colorado established that "strong fan base" of theirs is the fact that they won the Cup in their first year there, and again a few yrs later.  They could play in a dump, and those people would go see them - because they win.  When they had a crappy team in the early 80's they didn't support them - only when their team won after the gift from the NHL in 1995.  Colorado is a joke as far as hockey goes...

A new stadium only goes so far when it comes to maintaining a healthy franchise - just ask the 400 people in PNC park on Monday about that.

Winning cures more ills than a new Stadium - I say.

SVCFenn...

POWER CENTER ?  You are AWESOME! A Power Center, When did that become a position? OR even a reference to a position?  Maybe you should stick to your books more. We wouldn't want you to fall behind on your studies because of the NHL Playoffs.

AND...Please tell me you DID NOT Brag about your HIGH SCHOOL Hockey Team being state champs? OMG, who gives a horses ass about your High School?

And while stating how edumecated you are..and also how you "mirror your game" Damm Dude if you respect the guy that much? SPELL HIS FREAKIN NAME RIGHT!

I am not a grammer freak on message boards, but when you go out of your way to add an extra letter to someones name.

I will state that I think the Pens have a better team than the Flyers, but then the experts also said that about the Caps and the Habs. While they may be up 3-1, they have in NO WAY manhandled the Flyers as stated by most Pens fans, they won 3 games...great , get the 4th one they go brag all you want, until then STFU about how great they are. And while I'm on a roll, Good luck trying to keep all your "superstars together for more than 2 years under the current salary cap. If the pens do manage to win the series though, I sincerely wish them the best against the Wimgs, Your team has a ton of talent, but stop stuffing it down everyones throat, you never know when you'll get puked on.

looking forward to a very physical and high scoring affair on Sunday. Put your books down for the day.....eh?

I didn't say anything about cursing so I'm not sure were that reference is coming from...I actually don't consider sucks to be a curse word either.

At least make your chants make sense or if they don't at least make them funny...Crosby sucks is neither...Try things like "who's your Daddy" and "1918" to use a couple Yankee ones.

Now lets watch The Cros work his magic and accept the cup in a couple weeks and bring it back to the maritimes.

Hey buddy.  First of all he doesn't sound like a bitter pens fan. How about when the Flyers lost game 3 and everyone on this board was saying "well the flyers had a good season". Last night the flyers almost lost in one period hahah already up by 3 goals. show a lot of heart by the pens.

Also, this goes to everybody. I am sick and tired of hearing Malkin sucks. and Crosby sucks. You can hate a player cause he is good HOWEVER you have to respect the player if he is good. For instance, let's say in the NFL. I do not like chad Johnson (im a big steelers fan) however i respect that he is good and would never say that he sucks. Also Tomg brady. I think he is a baby and i also do not like him, however he is a great quarterback. If you know anything about sports you respect good players and you know that Malkin and Crosby are two of the best players in the NHL.   Pens in five. Pens just wanted to win in front of their home crowd...thats all.  haha

It was nice to see the Flyers play with some urgency.  They will definitely need to carry over the intensity Sunday afternoon.  It is going to be really tough to get this to a game 7.  Pens have way too much firepower.  The way the Flyers came out tonight is the way they should have the first three games.  They will need to get even more physical and play the same way.  They need to hold the Pens to 2 or less or it is going to be extremely difficult for them to make a run.

As a fan of neither team, I gotta say that Flyers fans just have me scratching my head.  Most of you are not on the boards after the Tuesday night loss, then come out like you are on top of the world last night.  I got to hand it to some of you.  Big set of stones.  Guaranting a Game 7, calling one of the top 3 players in hockey a girl.  Guys, you won your first game to make it 3-1.  Be thankful that LaRocque was not on the ice at the end of the game.  You think Richards would have been mouthing off and slashing him?  Anything can still happen, but the reality is that the Pens are more talented, are going home for game 5 and the Flyers are going to have to play incredible hockey, way over their heads, in every facet of the game.  It is going to be hard to keep that same intensity for 3 more games.  Good luck.

wow! Such hostility. I love my Flyers, but I think after last night they showed a little pride and can now lay down and lose in Pittsburgh. Perhaps if they get both defnsement back they could take another game, but not 3 more in a row. Pittsburgh has too much firepower for that.

Beware of Detroit. I know they haven't clinched yet, but those guys play as fluidly together as you can imagine and they're undoubtedly the favorite for the Cup.

Ew. Detroit.
