Sawyer Carroll with a 2-run HR now has 1 HR and 6 RBIs tonight and is 4-5 overall at the plate.

This brings his numbers on the season to .418, 15 HRs and 75 RBIs...That batting average and RBIs lead the SEC, yet he will still lose the Player of the Year to Gordon Beckham who probably get National Player of the Year as well...

Preseason press gives Beckham the edge...Its the same in baseball as other sports unfortunately.

I'm not saying Gordon Beckham isn't as deserving...But Carroll deserves more press than he gets for it.

SEC Update...

After tonight, UK will now be within a half game of 3rd place Vandy...That is huge because if UK can somehow manage to sweep Ole Miss and get that 3 seed from Vandy, we could have an inside track to hosting a regional!

Also...South Carolina got creamed at home by Tennessee tonight falling to 13-15 in the SEC and putting themselves in real danger of missing the SEC tourney.

Well I do enjoy you keeping us up to date with Kentucky baseball, but you have to be the biggest fair-weather fan I've ever seen!
Two weeks ago you were on the bandwagon, after LSU swept UK you jumped off of it and said they were the worst team ever, and now you're back on praising them and saying UK can host a regional??
Wow. That's funny.
Have a little more faith in your team!
-Rant over-
Now let's talk baseball again.
It does look like UK has turned it around, though. I guess LSU just caught them at a lucky time for the sweep.

That first post was a pissed off reaction to the sweep against LSU when we blew 2 of the 3 games (the story of a lot of lost series for UK this year including the sweep at Georgia).

I posted when I was still mad, which was a mistake.

I followed this team all season long listening to almost every game on the radio...There is nothing fairweather about me...I just get a little angry when they blow games...And they've done it a lot this year.

This team has been on a rollercoaster all season long...From sweeping Bama to start conference play to being 11-13 heading into last weekend...And back to 15-13 with a chance to finish 3rd in the league.

Great year for baseball in the SEC...And by the way...Not once have I made a negative comment about Sawyer Carroll or Colin Cowgill...Or really anyone else individually.

The only person I've called out individually all season long is Scott Green.
